I'm with you 100%, minus the short term market fluctuations, which I don't really care all that much about... though the market seems crazy high to me after the last decade, so it was probably due for a correction anyway in the next decade.

Part of me wonders/hopes if this will do anything to re-unite our country, which has become so divided over the last... decade? two? In the past, I feel like it would have, but it seems like this time, it's not at all - and there are even a group of people defending the invasion. So strange (to me). :notsure:

youd have to be completely mentally insane to defend this action lol. Who the hell thinks this is a justifiable action in any way. I hope the world can crush their economy quickly enough citizens demand it to stop or something like that, though clearly putin isnt a man who cares much about his citizens. The 1st world simply cant sit by and let this happen.

The reality, it is tragic what is happening. But others getting involved will be a catalyst to a bigger and broader conflict. Vlad has made it clear he is not afraid to go nuclear on those who intervene. Gotta pick the lesser of the two evils at this point. Everyone loses in this.

Replace Vlad with another leader, and you have the beginnings of WWII. And - at least, my feeling is that most of the world feels like it was right to stand up to that leader. Is the lesser of two evils to let this one take Europe (same goal as the previous leader) b/c otherwise he'll go nuclear? At some point, I think the answer is no.

It's always easy to say "stand by and do nothing," or "defend anyone who is attacked," and it's harder to know when that's actually the right thing to do.

Taking Europe isn't really in the cards though. I can't see a reason for Vlad to attack a NATO state, if other than him wanting to go out with a bang? Russia did take over Chernobyl before dark a bit ago. . .

Wait what? Who the fuck is defending this shit? haha

Yeah best bet is to try and fuel a revolution from inside. Which seems unlikely at this point given how aggressively opposition leaders and other have been removed/killed/oppressed. But if living gets really hard there then that could be enough to mobilize people there.

idk why they would even want Chernobyl. Thats still a major disaster right now

But taking over Ukraine wasn't really in the cards either. Until recently, even out of his mouth. That's how it goes when you actually take over something.

x2. i really dont get what the point of that was? unless its low hanging fruit, as a location the world knows about thats easy to understand in the media. "russia took control of Chernobyl" is a lot more impactful and recognizable for people than "russia siezed control of ukrposhta"

The real concern is that its russian tempting NATO to send troops in to start a massive war and then reveal its relationship with China which would overrun Hong Kong finally and invade Thailand, locked down the China Sea. Then North Korea jump in and them make a move on South Korea. Then India gets hit by China too.

All while all these country hover their finger over the nuclear option button the entire time...

ha thats a good point. Not that there was much to gain from it I suppose. Maybe there was.

ya thats a pretty grim worst case scanrio. all the dictator powers just grab whatever is near them all at the same time and they all say "dont stop us or we blow everyone up" and the rest of the developed world has to watch and let them do whatever they want? seems like a bad and very bad set of choices. This nuclear shit is such a depressing mess. These psychotic assholes are going to threaten to ruin the whole planet for the rest of us.

I think Project Farm on YouTube did a test with aftermarket batteries. Might have been with Dewalt though.

I would think another access to a shipping port would be one of the reasons. Being in the energy game they could send oil/gas out

Now we are beginning to understand, first hand, why WWI and WWII took place as they did. The politics behind jumping into a conflict are complicated, and the lines are blurred.

As for nuclear war, that would be baaaaaaad. As much as it stinks watching Ukraine get invaded, the play to avoid nuclear war is seemingly smarter. Let’s all pray that further action is never required by our leaders.

I said let’s hope we don’t need further action above. This is further action!!!

This is full on Armageddon. At this point, I might have to move to Montana. I’ll let you drive my 3rd gen in exchange for housing :anonymous:

Just offering up a truck far superior to Igor as an incentive.
