I need to put a new ps pump in my Tacoma, the last NAPA one completely died after 15k, what’s the general consensus? Is OEM worth it at 4 times the price?

 

Sure its noble to stand up to bullies, but the world is not that black and white. Our involvement in WWII was not standing up to "do the right thing", our hand was forced on December 7th, 1941. The rest, as they say, is history.

I would argue we are "standing up" as you will, as are other nations offering what aid they can. No one wants to see the events that are unfolding but from a risk assessment perspective, no country wants to take on the risk of nuclear war on their own soil. The scary question is, how many Americans is it acceptable to lose by "doing the right thing"? 10? 1000? 1,000,000?

I never said never in my posts, that was a stretch you made. At this point, as in the current situation, we are picking the lesser of the two evils.

I think we both agree the situation sucks, and that the aggressor is a lunatic. We seem to disagree about the actions taken on our side of the fence and yes, we can certainly disagree on that ill just give you some extra shit at the next campfire.

Unknown, but I am guessing OEM is the way to go.

Mine is OEM but the pump whine I am starting to hear is probably indicating it's days are numbered at 225K. It does not appear to have been caused by a clogged screen.

 

My OEM died around 180k, the NAPA crapper whined from the start, I should probably just spend the money.

 

I think they sell a rebuild kit for it and is the way to go. Can't remember.

But yes OEM pump for sure over the part stores ones.

Can you explain how that center lock works on that transfer case you have? I've been curious how it helps exactly

Yeah would have linked to that post probably.

Just allows power to slip at the tcase to the diffs. Which allows tight turns. And better grip in rain and snow generally.

4wd can cause under steer to happen in those conditions while turning.

 

Obv with the senseless loss of life, the waste of money, which is just made up anyway, but the waste of resources is equally frustrating. Like, we are trying to reduce global emissions by 20whatever to avoid further climate temperature increases, and here we are all sending thousands of tanks and choppers and planes and destroying shit we will have to use even more resources to rebuild, and for what? Just such a god damn waste of everything

 

But think of all the jobs it will create!

I, for one, am resting easier knowing that Lockheed Martin, Raytheon, and Northrop Grumman are all going to be just fine now.

I was really worried about them before this latest version of forever war kicked off!

I am not sure how long a good quality AGM type battery is supposed to last. Also not sure if having it in a dual battery configuration will make a difference. I suppose it can vary greatly, depending upon factors like the number of deep discharges and how hot the normal working conditions are. In any case, for the first time in 5 years of use, I've begun to notice a change in the charging behavior of my group 24F Northstar batteries.

So I began poking around, looking at options and pricing and started noticing the atteries I have are kind of hard to find. And the listings I do find list them at very high prices. Like $450+ for the same battery I bought for $275 not all that long ago.

What kind of behavior is happening to make you want new batteries?

 

@turbodb Thanks again for doing the SAW rebuild with me. Was pretty enjoyable work really. I did the spherical bearings today, man were those shot.

 

What is the condition of your stock stuff, wore out?

 

It works, still damps and holds the front up albeit not very high. Dan has my old Billies and Eibachs that don't damp much anymore but have strong springs. What's up?
