No it was because they actually out sourced it's production to china. And delays were so bad. They were supposedly retooling their own equipment to make them in house.

Yeah they were. Idk there was a blog post or something about it. I think I read it on Instagram. But yeah that's why that was a disaster.

 

Check out skatelite or gator skins. It’s that cutting board material adapted for outdoor skate ramps. Might be 1/4” and not 3/8. But you can get 4x8 sheets of it. Fully waterproof.

I, on the other hand, got home after 4 days to my garage door being forced open and the following gone:
* mid-torque impact
* air-up kit/mini osk: all my hoses and fittings, japanese pull saw, 3 shackles, warn winch controller, snatch block, tree saver strap.

I guess I'm lucky that's all that was stolen, since all my stuff in the garage and truck was gone through.

 

Thats frustrating, thieves are no beuno

 

That really sucks. What a bummer end to a holiday weekend.

Our route went out the window Friday so we did almost nothing of the original plan!

Were any of you at the grand opening of the Natl Museum of Military Vehicles in Dubois? If not... you all should check that place out. It is incredible. You could also plan a wheeling / camping outing in the Shoshoni Natl Forest. I took Horse Creek Road into the forest and wandered around a bit. Well worth a weekend.

 

Well now I'm curious! What'd you guys get up to?

You missed wind and sticky, messy, nasty mud.

 

looks nice. Been raining here for 3 days. Snowing up high. They are doing rescue operations apparently all over the mountain it snows so much so fast.

shit dude that blows. Still, yeah pretty lucky I'd say. A lot more expensive stuff than that stuff. But most that is easy to sell.

 

I didn’t go to the grand opening, but I’ve been to the museum several times, Dan’s done an awesome job with the place. Did you find anything semi-dry up horse creek? Took the dirt bike out Saturday and Sunday and it was pretty muddy, all the good trails up horse creek are still a month away from being passable, especially after the snow we got yesterday.

 

Things were excellent on Friday since Dubois got some sun and warmth so I camped near Elkhorn Ridge a bit up from the private property past Horse Creek Campground. Rain overnight made that trail sloppy onthe way out but I made it with the Taco and trailer in tow and elevation was on my side. I had two oh shit moments Saturday evening as I tried to push past Hough Meadow and the main road was real sloppy. Almost got stuck twice so I turned around and went back down to lower elevations and camped in that parking area just north of Horse Creek Campground on the right before the bridge. That was really peaceful sleeping next to the creek.

I pushed my Toyo Open Country tires past their limit. Another month and I'll have some proper all terrains more fitting for my purposes. 100% agree on your comment about Mr. Starks. I had the honor of attending one of his personal tours on a Saturday back in April and that was 4.5 hours well spent. He has built something for the generations... comparable or better than any Smithsonian museum in DC.

 

Check out the size difference in the oil filters on my 1.6l mini and 7.3l powerstroke


Took almost 2qt just to prime the filter. 15qt total on the oil change, ouch!
