Yeah I expect the road to work to be totally drifted over tomorrow. Blowing good out there.

Bummer about the Mrs.

You should install some snow fence along your road. That would help a lot

 

She made it home just fine luckily. Just a bit of a delay.

The highway is ugly now though. Drifts and a lot of ice. Tomorrow will be interesting.

We have thought of the snow fence. But really this seems to be the worst it's been. Even talking to people in town they say it's the worst in a long time. But our driveway is an easement between two farm fields so the fencing would be a bit tricky with that in mind. But doable at least in the bad spot....which is like 300-500ft maybe?

 

We haven't seen a snow like this in over a decade. We had 14' in January alone.

Well That is good. So long as it doesn't do what it did up here last summer and all melt in 1 week.

We usually get most our big snow fall in the spring. Last year we doubled our snow pack in 2 weeks...in May.

It's been a cold winter up here though. Have had 2 -50 snaps already.

super weird up here. Was raining this morning. Then snowing. After it had snowed yesterday. Roads are gonna be a disaster haha

 

Same here, heavy wind, then rain, now heavy drifting snow

Wyoming is closed. Go somewhere else.

 

Weather was great over the weekend/holiday. 55* and overcast. Took advantage to get the pups out and walking along the river. Planned some longer hikes this spring so need to get all of us in shape! Weather's getting cooler this week though.


Also got harnesses for the dogs to help with some ascent/descent situations in some slot canyons we are looking at, and another excuse to post a picture of the pup.

 

Headed to the Wyoming/Montana area for the first 2 weeks of July with a friend of mine. Can't wait to camp and visit the area. Thought I would drop in and say hello to everyone!

 

you better start lifting some weights to be able to lift all that dogo up and down some slots canyons haha She's gonna be a big ole girl.

 

Ha it's easy to help them up stuff with a harness and rope. It's not like I'm hoisting them up a 10m dry fall. And yes she is gonna be a big dog lol

 

Take the Chief Joseph highway out of Cody Wy into Montana if you can. Pretty scenic

 

Thank you sir for the tip. Will try to map that in! Any other tips for visiting obviously the well known Yellowstone area. We went to Colorado, Utah, AZ area a few years back camping and exploring. Always looking for the roads less traveled.

 

I'm not familiar with alot up there, Morrison jeep trail is in that area, but I believe its closed last I heard. Montana is weird for dirt roads, not a lot. Idaho has quite a bit of dirt roads to travel
