That was a great trip. One of our best I think. Devin still talks about it time to time too.

Very nice man. I wanted to do that zip sheeting on our house but was too much money. Looks like cool stuff.

 

Man I remember getting the sheeting for the garage. The plywood was still like 45 a sheet. Zip was like 125 a sheet. Made the choice to not use it easy! I'm sure it's better now since that was during the height of prices

 

It's still pricey, but not as bad. My house only has 2x4 exterior walls with 1/2 foam board on the studs and T111 on top of that. I'm going with the 2 1/2" Zip sheet to better insulate and provide the barrier it currently doesn't have. Worth the money to me. Undoing some early 90s janky construction.

The cool thing is the insulation on it if you want it.

that's cool you're doing the insulation. I liked that idea. And that it was like super sealed up. Which was appealing to me due to the winds we can experience. But also makes the HVAC system more complex as it makes such an air tight house.

 

I don't have HVAC, so no worries on that front. Just a pellet stove and baseboards. It's more work than I wanted on top of the garage addition, but future me will be happy I did it.

Which honestly isn't more windy all the time, but the wind blows harder here than where I was in Wyoming. Wyoming it just never actually stops most the time haha

 

I grew up in Cheyenne from '63 until '87, where snow falls horizontally! Honest to God, the ONLY time I ever saw vertical snow there was a weird storm that hit during my senior year in high school ('79)! Everything actually looked like a picture postcard the next morning - VERY strange! Of course, it all got blown to hell (or Scottsbluff, take your pick) that afternoon, when our usual winds came back!

 

I dont get what the markers mean, and how much of a difference that actually makes with the TC...

I think it is just a visual thing to differentiate it from the 5VZ 2WD and 4WD, and the 2/3RZ 2WD and 4WD torque converters. They all have different stall speeds

 

right, so if I can get everything else the same, could i get the same match and still have a different paint code? Should I just call a toyota shop and see if they can tell me exactly to order?

 

I went to a branding last weekend on a friends ranch (in montana), and joined for a few days of a legit cattle drive. I wasnt very useful the first day because I didnt know fuck all about riding horses, but i figured it out much better the second day lol.

 

when I filter by my year/engine/transmission I get results that show a 9.125 bolt pattern, not 9.25

I'm inclined to believe it is rockauto mislabeling then because transtar is basically the industry gold standard for trans parts. If they say it fits I'm pretty sure they guarantee it.

 

Wouldn't a Toyota dealership be able to correctly identify what you need?

 

I sent a ticket in with them to try and get one ordered correctly
