Yessir. There were steel bumpers on it before, but most of the vans are fitted with aluminum. The thought being weight savings and I haven't come across many in the forums that have ever had issues with strength. Self recoveries of a 10k vehicle has not deformed the winch plates like we have see Tacomas do with steel bumpers. I've pulled a 7k van without issues, barely even felt it to be honest. I just suspected an impact wouldn't fare well. Hopefully I don't test it because they currently cost $2750 before freight. I did drag the rear last year in Utah and it faired much better than I expected, just minor chunking, but no deformation of the rear structure as I expected, it hit a rock on the bottom lip of the bumper.

Aluminum sliders too? I was surprised also.

    Is this the Bighorns?

I haven't measured. Next time I visit the storage unit I'll have to take a peak. Online claims 3/16" 5052 with 3/8" 6061 winch plate. Seems lighter than I thought. The first anecdote I saw online was hitting a deer at 50mph without damage, and an impact with a buss that only damaged the powder coat. Obviously smart design goes way beyond raw material strength, but they note that they are trying to thread the needle of being too strong that the energy gets absorbed by the frame, and still being able to shrug off animal strikes.

He said .120 wall DOM in the comments, but sure doesn't look like it. I don't have dents that big in my HREW sliders.

And yes, that's why I thought it was entertaining knowing the trail. We all cleared that line no problem!

surely not, I don't know of a trail in the big horns with a bolder section that big. I mean Boulder Basin is fun but nothing like that. Unless it's changed that much in 4 years...which I guess is possible with the utv traffic.

Didn't I hit my driveshaft there or maybe my gas tank? Didn't you do the left line and roll a 2ft rock under you? Going to have to find the photos. What year was that?

I'm nearly certain you talked me into the right line, which is where I had the big rock get stuck under me.

OK, maybe I shouldn't give that dude a hard time...

I mean it does look like boulder to me, but that was long ago, we took the "bypass" lol that was right after Frank went looking for a penny in the river I believe.

Was that Devin's last long trip? She's more forgiving than I would have been in her position!

Here's Dan @drr on the section that I thought the video might have been from, but I'm not sure is the same spot. I think this is where his resi and UCA got in a fight...

If that’s the same spot, it’s a lot more torn up than it was when we went through.

Nah that spot is before the creek I put frank into. It's actually not that long after you turn off the main road.

Yeah okay the pins have aligned in my brain seeing this.

From the retour? Nah she came to Colorado twice I think which was after retour.

Yeah looks a lot different. Big horns have gotten a lot more in the "know" recently I think.

So essentially the rocks have moved, I think that big boulder next to Glenn's truck is the one he was on in the video.

nah I think the rock he was on is the snow covered one in the foreground of Glenn's truck. The path up that hill is kind of a curve so Glenn has to drive more forward and just out of frame then hook to our right.

Alright, proof you did do the right line and then somehow defied gravity with this rock.
