other random thing of the day for me.

My neighbor, who is a cool guy from scotland building a giant ass house, had a 2017(i think) 2500 RAM. It died during the -40 temps and he called USAA to come jump it.(no idea why). Anyways, he says the company that came put one 24v jumper on on battery and something else on the other and it fried the truck. He had taken it to the dealer and they quoted $36,000 in repair as they claim every electrical thing needs replaced.

I don't know that much about diesels much less newer ones. But that seems crazy to me.

Either way, insurance is working through and totaled the truck. He doesn't know what the buy back price is yet. thing has almost 200k on it but it's super clean. Was more of a driver than a hauler truck. well maintained otherwise. I'm tempted if the price is low enough to get it to see if I can fix it. But need to do some more digging to see if that's actually a bad idea or not. Seems like if the price is low enough on buy back that it would be worth trying to fix. I mean even if you had to replace the ECU and all other control brains(however many their are) I'd image it can't be worse than buying something else these days. But...idk. Interesting though, if the price is right. Which to me is 10k or less. It's a totally dead truck as it is now.

on my pc now, these look nice. These aren't flickr links are they? Seem a bit soft which I'd imagine is just TW compression.

how big is it? I enjoyed my last project which was just one bay in my new garage. But was awesome to be out of the elements even if it wasn't super spacious. Hell of a lot better than my last one.

For 10k you can buy a 2nd gen 12 or 24 valve and have less of a headache.

Yeah but most I've seen for 10k have over 200k on them and are pretty beat on. Interior is usually not great.

But I get the drive train would be a lot less of a headache.

Old garage is 24 x 32. New side is 26 x 32 with a triangle piece cause it's kicked at an angle. Think it was right around 1000sq ft in total

I picked up a 12v in December for a work truck. Old rancher had it, interior is great for a 95, outside is meh, has 240,000 on it but was just rebuilt due to the KDP

Jealous. That's kind of what I need. But also wouldn't mind if it was nice and comfortable.

Would love to be able to haul 500 gal water in a single go.

Oh really? I didn't realize it had become that big of a pita.

Guy I sent my ECU to in New Zealand stole it or fell off the face of the earth so that was a setback. Have another ecu that I'm going try and if it doesn't do it I'm kinda over it, tired of looking at a truck that takes up space when I could put the money into something useful

Flicker saved to phone and then uploaded from there. Too hard to do the links from my phone, and I already save them to it.

They are somewhat on the soft side in the shaded images, but I had the 1.4 on at the same time. The later ones in the sun are as good as it's going to get.

To have the immobilizer turned off, I got it to fire and then that engages and kills the truck. That's the worst part, I'm right there, but just can't reach out and grab it, have to just look with my eyes

Rivian R2 and R3 look pretty great. Might even be able to afford that some day.

Love the retro shape. I'll stick to my dinosaur burner though, I just don't see how an EV can have soul. Coincidentally I was quite pleased with the picture I got of mine last night in the golden hour.

Of course I caught some birds at this new duck pond I visited. TW compression screws with them a bit. I need to figure out a workflow for smoothing the backgrounds more as I don't like that the background seems "grainy" a lot of the time when it's empty sky or water.
