Plug wires were replaced with coil packs I think. Or at TB change around 208k. So could be those. I'll check.

Plugs are probably due for a swap. I think I have a set in the garage I can slap in quickly.

It's weird though it's a constant vibration. My last misfire episode felt more like the tranny was slipping and would do it under larger loads but never really cruise or barely throttle.

But would make some sense. Certainly worth looking at.

Im also sad my Scangauge is dead. Like totally dead. Doesn't even light up.

Edit: it would appear I need to unplug it all the way from all connections and reconnect it. My battery died a few weeks ago. Supposedly that'll bring it back. So maybe I'll have some pending codes.

Unplugging the SG and re-plugging it in will force it to go through it's "connecting" procedure. Certainly worth trying. Also, sometimes mine will act like it turned off but pushing the main button (the one with the red circle) always brings it back.

Props Jaxon. Seems you might be right.

Third coil pack is dark and not smelling great. Spark plugs tube is filthy.

Plus doesn't look any worse that the others in this side.

    PXL_20240312_012630565.MP.jpg

Which begs the question. Are the plugs bad or the one coil pack?

That's the same one that was giving me a misfire code two years ago. Which led me to get new coil packs in the first place.

Well I've got new plugs so might as well.

Only difference I've noticed is the bad looking one doesn't tighten up like the others. Was more sudden and stuff then nice and smooth. So that's not great.

Are the coil packs OEM? If you are not going to replace them right now, try moving that one to another hole.

That plug is not totally done but there is some wear. Replace them if you have them.

Yeah Toyota OEM. I'll move it see if anything happens. Last time I have a misfire code for cylinder 3 and it followed the coil pack. I said fuck it at the time and replaced them all.

I'll consider it. Seems fair to me.

Whoa whoa drug up? That's not how it happened sir. If I recall the 2nd gen attempted to drag to no avail and the broken 1st gen had to correct the line itself and was a tiny bit sketchy.

    And then it broke again.

    So yeah maybe $400

Been practicing down at my local duck pond. Here is a shot at 560mm, pretty damn sharp. Getting enough light into the camera is a challenge with f/8. Certainly going to be selective with when i use it.

Looks great. Bit of motion blur on the wings. But I'd imagine not super high shutter speed at that aperture.

That is what makes shooting birds such a challenge.
    Settings were 1/2500s, f/8, ISO 1250, @ 560mm. I am already shooting fast.

Even if you crank the shutter, you can have blur.
f/8, ISO 1600, 560mm, at 1/4000 and STILL, some blur.

That said, i think what you see is DOF blur, not motion blur in both photos.

It has to be. The rule of thumb is 2k freezes any bird.

I will say, I had a no-name tripod that I returned for a manfroto mono. Full carbon fiber, doubles as a walking stick. Super impressed with it and my camera bag from them. It's not a cheap company but so far, I understand why, top quality stuff.

They only issue I have with how I like to shoot, is I like to walk with the camera on my chest carrier, then pull it off for a few shots, ideally on the monopod, then back on the chest. I almost need like a quick connect between the mono and camera.

You don't have a quick release plate? The tripod didn't come with that?
