Ha! No, I don't have the followers to influence anybody.

 

One only needs a follower to be of influence. What is a trail ambassador?

Can you let onx know they need to combine to one app. I like hunting, offroading and playing in the backcountry. I think it's silly that I would need to pay for different subscriptions to get the different features from each.

 

This is a few years outdated now, needs an OnX box.

For what it's worth, the feed back actually goes somewhere. The new update just pushed a "landscape mode" and a couple of other things...though I doubt they'll combine. Hunt is the moneymaker, and gets most of the attention from corporate.

Trail ambassador means I get paid to drive trails and provide that info to the engineers/ux people. They then upload that info into the app. So when they push an update its new trails and info going into the app.

 

How do you get into that sort of thing? I find undocumented or nonexistent trails all the time, was always curious how feedback on that stuff worked

 

Isn't it a great feeling stumbling upon something unexpected? Every trail doesn't need to be documented. There is something to be said about getting out of comfort zones and forging ahead into the unknown.

 

Might even get lost that way.

 

and better yet not letting hordes of people know it's there and over use it. It's a shame that thats a thing now, but it's the reality too.

 

That's when the real adventure starts!

Speaking of - you habitual mappers and planners should do a trip without mapping it first, and see what happens.

 

When I started doing this, that's the way it was. There was no mapping software or GPS devices for that. Had to rely on paper maps. GPS is better.
