Yeah I need to order my parts too. Been too busy with yard work.

Of course 4 days of 50mph constant wind undid most of it...and now snowed and now skeet and rain haha

 

Any of ya go see the northern lights last night? We're pretty incredible at my house. Even broke out the camera. Supposed to better tonight even.

 

I'm headed into the hills soon. Was out pretty late last night in town but never looked up I don't think I'll catch a view tonight though, activity is shifted north and I'll likely be in a canyon.

 

supposed to be viewable in like 48 states. I'll bet you'll see them.

 

About what time were you out seeing them?

I got a 'special weather alert' on my phone for Extreme Geomagnetic conditions. It went on to say that NOAA Space Weather Prediction center had observed extreme (G5) geomagnetic conditions early Saturday morning and expects G4 conditions to continue throughout the weekend.

 

At my place soon as it got dark. So 9:30pm and checked again at 11, 1, 2:40am. Was pretty great.

 

I'll check it out tonight. No clouds today so hopefully I'll be able to see it.

 

Very cool. We didn't check it out last night b/c we don't have a great view to the north, but we've seen a bunch of photos from other folks in town, so we're going to see if we can find something tonight, I think.

 

Headed up to Happy Jack/Curt Gowdy area shortly. Hoping that’s north enough since we missed it last night in mid-Colorado.

 

Was pretty amazing and at least where I was was full sky. Seemed like it was showering down from the south. Like it was centered there and poured all around. Super cool

 

Out looking for auroras. Not seeing any. Maybe there's too much light pollution.

Pretty epic at my house!

 

Saw them briefly last night way up the river. Took a couple pictures, stirred the fire, and by the time I looked back they were gone. Kinda neat, but not neat enough to stay up for them to show again. What's interesting is my eye caught that there was light in the sky, but only the cameras picked up the color. Did anyone else experience that?

 

I saw light but I think it was just light pollution. Did not break out the camera. Maybe I should have.

Did you ever check on what Devin's schedule is going to be on Friday the 24th? Trying to figure out our schedule for that day so we show up on time.

 

Yeah I was faaaar away from any light. But to the naked eye it looked like light pollution, only color shows on the camera. I've been toying with a tripod and remote to add to my kit, couldn't get much without it on the 7D.
