I want more power not less!

Mine get noisy above 70mph. I don't recall the noise from the cooper's. I do think they are a better tire than the st maxx. I agree with @Blackdawg about them being softer also. They are E. I think they come one a D range 35x 10.5x 17. You wanted taller right?!

The also have a 33x9.5x15. Might end up with a set for my T100.

 

33x9.5r15? Hm nice. 33s might be a bad idea though for my daily. I don't need worse mileage haha

Mine don't seem too noisey at 80mph. Not louder than just the wind noise. But also hard to say. Not like my truck has any sound treatment in it.

 

How noisy is noisy? Do they howl like some MTs do when they get a few miles on them? Or is it more like a mild hum that you start to notice more as the speeds get higher?

I've become less concerned about the load rating and more concerned with the weight of the tire. E rated tires are not always heavier than their C counterparts.

 

hm I've never noticed that. Can't say I've looked at that before. One would assume E's would always be heavier though, unless the size of the tire is bigger.

 

I wouldn't say it's super loud but I struggle to hear what my daughter is saying sometimes. My hearing sucks as is though. I'd describe it as in between the hum and howl. I only notice it above 70 or 75 mph. I have 20k on them.

I had meant to download a sound meter app on my trip but never did.

 

My only evidence is from the Falkan website. They offer their 285/70r17 AT3W tires in 3 ratings, SL, C and E. The C is 60.6# and the E is 58.9#. The E is also a little wider and a little taller.

Well Honda can officially suck a nut.

Devins lca went bad very shortly after I replaced them. Well. Turns out the welded nut that holds the front mount down with a bolt broke off. Inside the subframe. No way to get to it it's full boxed in.

So gutted everything and put a holesaw on it to hopefully get a wrench or socket on it to get the bolt out.

Nope.

It's not a nut. It's a sleeve.

So probably have to replace the whole sub frame because in order to get a welder on it I'd have to hack so much of it away I'm not sure I can patch it up well enough.

Either way. Gotta pull the sub frame to attempt it or replace.

Its pending. I had messaged the guy before that but someone got there first.

Plus given she drives like 100+ miles a day the insight has been good.

 

Hows the snow pack down there @BossFoss Looking at maybe trying to get to shoshone over July 4th weekend. Devin's never been.

That might help some. But slipping off a wet rock is pretty easy there. And with OEM skids, the belly is pretty exposed.

 

I did that trail on 265s too. It'll be fine!

 

I can't spit numbers at you but it was a mild winter compared to last year so I'm sure it will be open by the 4th of July

 

Meh. It's not that bad. Just the right line is needed. Not worried about it.
