What's on there now? I've found that the ST/Max had a long life (my current set of 4 lasted 50K; previous set of 5 was 64K), and they're a good hybrid, feeling a lot like an AT on the highway to me.

Nittos trail grapplers I think. They are wearing fine considering the weight. Probably will be due to replace next season. It's a lot better than my car where I learned this week my tires only lasted 7k miles

    Ooooof.

We'll see how the Kendas do over the next year. My new set arrives in a few days and the truck will be back up for installation on July 9. Fingers crossed that they are as good as Monte says. They are significantly cheaper than the Maxx's at least...

You got the RT's? I got 30k out of them before my alignment caught up with me.

running the MT2s on my personal and work truck now

Yep. Hoping I like them more than the Maxxs, which I've thought were really great but also really expensive. 30K with a bad alignment sounds pretty good.

I get them through Simplytire.com and they just ship to a store of your choice. Price includes install. One time the shop charged me install and I sent Simple Tire the invoice and they reimbursed me. Pretty cool.

No idea on the weight either but I'd assume if they make it in the right load range for the size you'd need you'd be fine. What is the size you run? Can you go bigger?

They are the best AT tire I've ever used.

You love them way more than the maxxs. The maxxs were okay at everything but not good. The Kendas are great on the trails. Quieter. And WAY better in the snow.

I'm on 285/XX/16... Not sure about aspect ratio but they are a "33". Won't go bigger, would be too gutless and I don't want to cut up another truck haha

I think something changed. Or maybe it's just in the Seattle area, but when I tried to order through SimpleTire, they wouldn't give me the option to purchase install for Kendas (I can still get Cooper installs). I ended up using eBay (and a Kenda authorized seller), which did give me an install option ($99) at my local Firestone.

Edit: looks like my seller is now out of stock. SimpleTire does sell on eBay too, and you can get eBay install ($99) so that's a workaround for the SimpleTire silliness.

Looks like I still have the tires in my cart because of that, hahaha.

    Probably 75.

But having 16s is going to become an issue. Less and less options in 16s. No Kenda RTs for instance.

Oh weird. Not a Seattle thing. Says same thing for me. Odd.

I had my set shipped to a local store direct. Called them and told them they were coming and just took the truck in when they showed up. Did the same for Devin's summer tires too. Strange.

Also gone up in price. I think I paid just over $200 a tire installed back then.

Check out the price of Maxxs these days. The Kendas seemed cheap to me!

I keep hearing that about 16s but I think there is still enough demand for that size that there will still be options at least for generic type ATs.

It is still a big heavy duty truck market segment, so you're right there should be no shortage of E load basic ATs for it. They are more expensive and there are certainly less choices now, but 285/75/16 is a well supported size still so if you're sticking with that then you're fine.

Exactly. Tire prices seem to keep climbing no matter what. I saw my Yokies that I had on the truck have risen 70% since I bought. But it certainly going to make me want to push a bit further before replacing tires, hopefully won't wait till the chords show like I did on the Mercedes :anonymous:

Anything with camber like our cars have is going to make you replace performance tires even faster, I hate that, but it is the price you pay for being able to handle. You dial the camber out and you'll over/under steer a lot more in a corner at speed. The tires I just replaced were from 2017, but I saw the mileage from when they were put on and it only went 13k haha

All this tire talk had me searching last night. Found a set of 4k mile 315/75R16 Trail Grapplers that will be replacing the junk KM3's this weekend :broccoli:

I'm not looking forward to changing the STT Pros out, probably will try something new again. I don't have much tire loyalty

I'm still on the original fronts that came on the car, the tears are what I go through for obvious reasons. What gets people in trouble is the rear camber hides that you have an issue. I had some tread on the outside but was on the chords on the inside edge. Granted the car was telling me there was an issue which is why I looked. It was feeling just a slight side to side wiggle when going straight, so I knew something in the rear was loose. Have only put 3 miles on the tires but I presume that was the issue.

The Yokies were good. It would be the MT I would go back to on the truck. Suck on ice, but worked great everywhere else, and they wore like iron.

Yeah sounds like what mine was doing too, you'd go over a bump and it would almost "wiggle" getting back on the fuel
