Appreciate the offer. I have a coworker that offered up a lift when I need it, but I guess I'm just not that comfortable with taking people up on offers like that, prefer to just be independent and work in my own world/time with less pressure. So far I think I'll be able to just do the shocks in the parking lot at work.

I haven't taken nicer pics since I got it all cleaned up and put new tires and headlight covers on. But I bought an AWD E46, low miles for the year and tons of service records since it was a dealer loaner most of its life, The second (first since a dealer owned it?) owner I bought it from used it to run errands infrequently.

I wasnt sure if he was talking about the truck or the van lol. Well, at least theres plenty of driveway space infront of the garage, close enough

I don't really want to work from home, I like the separation of the to spaces. Certainly have learned that I want to live close to work and have minimal commuting in my life. Even if I had epic views like you.
    Yeah I am familiar:rofl:

Ah nice! I didn't know that. Cool!

I like the separation too. Covid sucked for me.

But I still try and work from home a bit. During winter usually 1 day a week if I can. If I get to hire another engineer in the next year then I'll be able to work from home a lot more which will be nice.

And I know what you mean but when I get home and get to wander around the property doing simple chores outside this time of year, it's awesome. Taking care of trees while the dogs hang out and watch the sunset behind the mountains. Pretty awesome.

Hopefully I can afford to still live here in 10 years and property taxes don't push me out..

One thing that I've learned is that I feel so much less stress in my life now that I don't have a house or property to maintain. There's always something. Now I have a lot more time to be out walking the parks, taking photos, being social, reading books etc. it was pretty eye opening how much more time I have now. I gained back something like 8 hours a week I was loosing from commuting, yardwork, and upkeep of the house.

    Ooof. I feel that

Pretty accurate to what my life is now hahaha but rentals here are really an option either. I miss my $800/mo rental though! Think my living expenses were like 1100-1300 a month depending on heating bill and food.

    over twice that now...jesus.

    Mo money mo problems.

My property taxes went up another 1200 a year too for some reason. Not sure why. But if that keeps happening I won't be able to afford anything.

I've just come to terms with the fact that I'm not particularly happy with my life so if drastic change is required because I got priced out I'm not sure I'll be that disappointed, it'll just be an opportunity to try something else.

Yeah my rent ain't cheap, and I have a big storage unit. But still it makes things more simple than they were. Committed now to selling the car so that will be this weekends project to get it ready. Swung for the fences and bought a big boy lens :anonymous:

I'm close to Cody...just saying...and I have no clue where you actually live but man I feel like I saw your house between Juliet and Columbus lol. Least from a distance. Looked similar enough I did a double take

But not having a landlord is a plus.

And I'm not sure how it is for your house but even with the tax increases, they asses it way below what I could actually sell our place for. Even when we sold my Washington home it was "assessed" at like 210k....we sold it for more than double that which in a weird way made me happy lol

Yeah i have a pretty good gig overall. And be very hard for me to find a steady job like this in my field. But would always explore an opportunity.

Plus we've invested so much of our time and life into this place I'm not anxious to move again haha

Nice haha what lens is that? 800??

I mean Ill be in Powell next week so totally could pick it up. I'd have to borrow a trailer to bring the frame then pick the diff then take it to Billings to get recycled. Have to see about it.

I'm south of Columbus and you can see my house from i90 if you know where to look. Haha but not from the Joliet cut off road.

Yeah can't see it from 421.

Oh and yeah I know the tax assessment is usually lower. And if so my house is worth way more than it really is. Haha

600mm F4 IS II. $7500 USED for a lens is insane but I'm a bit crazy. It's pretty much as good as it gets so if the shots aren't working, it's not the gear, it is me. But I am thinking about putting my name out there at some events too to see if I can pick up more side work. Without trying I've been asked to do auction photos, portraits, branding photos, weddings and boudoir shoots. So I must be doing something right. I have a lot to still learn and will likely look into some Photoshop classes to really bring my skills up.

I'd take a class if you're going to get into portrait. For both lighting and the editing side. That shit is hard. Then you get into flash photography too.

    But cool! That'll be awesome.

Certainly a lot to learn and obviously a very niche camera lens. I think it would be good to try sporting events, races, airshows. Might be something there. If nothing else try to get experience this year and go from there. I have a sweet range of lenses to work with so still need to learn how to use them to their full potential.
