I have an old picture on my wall in my apt that used to hang in the house I grew up in, and it's damn near impossible to see the print behind the glass due to the glares. You're right though it depends on the room. I have a few windows and get a lot of natural light in my place which is probably why I'm so adverse to it. The interesting thing is the comment about detail. I would assume the finish impacts contrast more than detail.

 

The 1dx is a crop sensor too(or was). But I think just x1.3 vs the x1.6. it's other main party trick is frames per second it can shoot.

But otherwise your 7d is also very popular for all the same tasks usually. More than capable.

Either way, plenty of stuff to learn as there always is and fun.

 

Do you know what the wheel speed will likely be when he mats the pedal?

 

They (or you) usually do it at around 2500-3000 rpm depending, suppose you can specify the wheel speed if desired as long as RPM is in range

 

Locked in 3rd (OD off), 2500 rpm is ~55-60 mph and a downshift is unlikely. At 3K a downshift is even more unlikely.

Eh, I thought the 1dx was the top of the line? A quick look says that $6300 puppy is full frame. It has a very high frame rate but so far the 10fps I have is more than enough. If frame rate is critical then mirror less is the way to go. The downside of high frame rates is how much culling you do in post, 10+ shots that all look the same is a thing. The biggest issue at 10fps is that it matches several bird species flap rate so you'll get them in flight and the wings are in the same pose for multiple shots

 

Could I perhaps make money developing camera firmware that made the fast burst a wildcard so the shots weren't in a perfect sequential 10fps

 

Who would buy that when you can lift your finger off the button for a split second and keep firing to get more poses? Lol

 

IDK heavy hobbyists are some of the most feature hungry creatures on the earth and camera people are the worst ones. The whole Magic Lantern camera firmware exists because people want features rather than more work

 

You running comparable boost numbers? @Digiratus do you have the new blower?

 

I have a 2nd gen MP62 with a 2.2" pulley. I see 8-8.5 psi at sea level on a good day.

 

85!?!? How are the rods in that thing still?

 

I will be running 9psi

 

In Spokane I'm lucky if I see 6.5.

 

If it makes you feel better your horsepower will be adjusted to elevation. It makes me feel better even though my PSI also adjusts to elevation

Got the new shock bolt in and new upper ball joints. They seemed fine and tie rods did too so think the dude at the tire shop was just dumb and thought the play in my steering wheel was the issue. Oh well. Going to a different shop tomorrow.

Probably need to do lower ball joints too soon.

And I think I'll get different ucas sooner than later. Ones bushings are going bad. And I have the old version. Not sure what I'd replace with.

 

Took the truck in for alignment and it was still dead on after new ball joints so that's cool.

Plus the wizard tech was still there so that's awesome. Thought he'd retired.
