That's how I always did it. Glad you found an easier way!

My truck needs so much maintenance work... All new front end joints and all 4 shocks rebuilt. Need a new resi hose on the front too. Wore through it on our trip west last year was a spectacular oil explosion in red canyon :facepalm:been riding it dirty since then. Quite possibly have ruined internals lol. Jens getting a new car in September and I'll have a beater to drive to work which means the big cheese will be a garage jackstand queen for a few months!

A new to us 2017 outback. Not my first choice but it's pristine and at the right price. Will be great for Jen and then boys. I'll drive the fiesta till it dies probably.

    I'm sure you'd hoped I'd found a nice ml63 eh? I wish!

I mean what could be more fun than starting a business for hire that could maintain these trails? Depending on equipment requirements you could make a good go at keeping the trails you want open funded by the state and done by yourself enjoying the work. I'm sure you've got lots of free time :)

While I'm a big fan of cars with m156 motors, I think a cayenne will be the next suv. But sometimes you have to buy a car for logical reasons, not emotional, or so I'm told

Yep, single income fam of 4 is limiting the fun factor. It's ok though, I'll get my 944 with an ls track car one day.

My neighbor is on a big VW SUV, Cheyenne kick. Been buying and flipping after maintenance and fun upgrades. Black smoke included on the diesel models. Kinda makes me want one

Man, my LS is just shoved in storage. Hopefully one day I'll find a chassis to drop it in

Yeeees. Glad it worked for ya.

It's a pretty popular trail and two off-road clubs we're helping take care of it. But some serious washouts to deal with now both at the bottom and on the switchbacks.

Yaaaaassss bring big cheese back! Frank is coming back too!

Ooof. Not a fan of the subies these days. Too many bad explosions. I helped a friend buy a new car and we test drove right after driving a venza. The venza was so much nicer for the same price.

But I bet it'll work well for you guys!

Ha! If only. Would need a skid steer and mini excavator at least. Plus truck and trailer...doubt they'd pay me enough haha would be a fun job though..

    Jens not teaching?

Hey big cheese has been my daily for the last 12 years! When's the last time frank moved! Jokes aside I love my truck and we use it for truck stuff all the time, gotta get him ready to haul wood this fall. It's darting all over the place these days and not much fun to drive over 65... Needs some love.

Yea the subi is staying in the family and will work well for us. Until we get into something else. Like i said it's not my ideal but it will work as who knows maybe I'll like the Koolaid

No Jen is not teaching. The district here is bat shit crazy and Jen has left teaching behind for the foreseeable future, it's sad but she's too much of a go getter to subject herself to the pay scale and culture of the teaching lifestyle here. She's a part time admin for a cali based photography company and liking it. Making more than teaching at the moment. So I guess I can't say single income anymore...

I can find a home for it :p

Nah ifyou're smart with your money over the next 3-6 years you can get one again I'm sure.

    fair point. haha

    Glad it's kicking good!

And we need new cars too but I don't like anything I see out there especially for the price. Shit time to buy a car no matter what really.

Ah bummer. Also a horible time to be a teacher. Pay sucks and between how terrible kids are these days(it seems like) and even worse parents. That alone makes it not seem worth it. So yeah. Bummer. But hey glad she's found something and remote so she can be home with the boys most the time. Thats got to be great.

My shop is filled with RX-7 right now, take a number, get in line, wait till you're called these days lol

New fuel system for the Dorito box. Two 1500cc primary injectors, 2 1750cc Secondary injectors from injector dynamics, and very fancy radium fuel rails, pressure regulator, fuel pulsation damper, and a nice Syltech fuel pressure/temperature sensor

Not totally fixed, but much better. Will be interesting to see how it is once the bed is packed and everything’s on the rear bumper.

If there's still a little bit of lean after that you can probably dial it out with the coilovers I did that on the gray truck

Yeah, good idea. I'll do that when I do the rebuild/bearings. Really, it's a little strange right now, so I want to look at it more in different conditions. Top of bump to frame is 1/4" difference, passenger higher. But ground to slider is 1.25" (passenger higher). The slider measurement is bogus of course, since the sliders are surely uneven, but it looks like more than a 1/4" difference to me. Whatever. LOL.

Tires rotated on the van and the Mormon crickets cleaned off. Pretty miserable in 103* temps. Oil, shocks and awning and the van should be ready. This must be how monte always feels the week before a trip....
