I've had an inreach mini for years. Nice to have the peace of mind on solo camping/fishing/mountain biking adventures. But it's also nice to shoot over a quick message from anywhere, just to check in, or if you trying to meet up with someone.

Also on Gaia, still happy with it years later. I just pay for the outside plus membership being I use trailforks all the time too for biking.

I'm still #1 on the trailforks leaderboard for Meridian trail at Tippet!

    That was an awesome day.

    Ha! Amazing.

@m3bassman that truck you posted with SUA and coilover on axle was wild! Probably his way of dealing with the weight of his setup which is pretty smart!

The zuk mod was to use 4runner coils over the bump stops and strike plates back in the day ha. Kind of similar I suppose.

Doesn't appear that guy has enough spring rate still. You can still get some of those little coil over shock absorbers at the parts store I see them on old trucks all the time.

These little junkers are only 76 bucks
    https://www.amazon.com/Gabriel-646177-FleetLine-Heavy-Shock/dp/B005J942EW/

But the ones on that guy's truck right some sort of fucked up angle that makes them less useful too

I really wanted to get a closer look and better pictures. It's very interesting at least and cool to see someone still innovative with these old trucks. The big box, the tent, and then last time I saw him it had a trailer behind it, I'm sure it's all to manage the weight. Maybe air shocks? It also sounded like it might be turbo charged to handle the weight too. It's a cool truck in my eyes.

New radiator is in. Gotta get coolant as I was an idiot and didn't use a clean container to drain it. Could have easily just reused it all...Jesus.

Now I have to figure out how to get rid of coolant again.

And one of my mounts for the tranny cooler broke. Need to fix that. Been weeping fluid too at the connections. Guess my hose clamps suck.

Worm clamps suck for things that expand and contract a lot, they have no give. Constant tension spring clamps are the best but people seem to get annoyed by them for some reason and take them off

didn't come with those. Do parts stores sell those? I'd rather have those.

95% of the time this winter I did all my work from an att 5g wifi hot spot. The device is $500 and the service is like 20/mo, unlimited data. So as long as you have some ATT service, you have internet. Ya its not working in the woods or the back country, but I dont want it to. We almost never used the starlink because we weren't international. If you are land based, and roaming around the US, I dont see why it wouldnt be a viable option. If you want to do remote work 20 miles from a paved road literally in the middle of nowhere, ya your only choice is starlink.

The small starlink kit seems Ideal for on the road working now IMO.

I've been pretty happy with my Starlink since an update about 5 months ago really improved latency. Hell I can game on it with decent enough ping. About the same as my Cable was when in school. So can't complain.

Its not fiber. But still good. Just expensive.

Starlink would have to happen if I decide to work part time remote. I wouldn't pay for it if I was commiting to saving up and paying cash to live in the road for a year. The hardest part is knowing how much you need to save up to do it, especially the way I want to. Gulf of Mexico to the Arctic circle.

20-30k. It's a lot cheaper down there than here. Biggest expense is gonna be fuel. Food won't be that bad.

plus probably not that much if you're still going to be working full time.

Actually the biggest expense by was food. Even at $20kiles a year, it's food. $25/day is a big expense. Idk I think it'll happen but we can bullshit about it this week.

25 bucks a day in central and south america? I think you're eating wrong if you're spending that much down there.
