I should add, 44 consecutive frames. I didn't pull frames from an extended period of time, there were just multiple strikes, which is kinda cool. I did slow it down 3x.

If it is the Lost Horizon, I've read that is can get very flat using it's electric pump that some models come with. Something like 1/2" thick flat which is pretty amazing. No personal experience though.

in other news, I found the leak in my tent. Was right in front of our faces. That harder plastic insert had a small crack on the edge where it had been squished a few time into an oval shape. See if my glue and patch holds tonight.

Well, I guess I can't make fun of Monte for waiting too long to swap out spherical bearings anymore...

Monte - how hard is it to replace the rod end? Curious about holding the shaft and how hard it is to remove unscrew the end. Need to heat it? Loctite on reinstallation?

Little hard to see, but that's completely wallowed out:
    upload_2024-8-7_19-58-46.png

What's left of the bearing and clips. Of course, the ball and misalignments have a little wear too, and of course, they just fell out of the whole situation once I had the shock off the truck, hahahaha.

Why run resis when you can run rusties? (I think these are Zane's, so thanks for leaving them at some point Zane!!!)

bummer. I should have known. The only time mine squeaked was when that happened.

Anyways, no idea. That happened to my Kings and I bought ADS to replace them lol

I had hoped to rebuild them but never did.

I know it's a PITA to get the rod ends off though. Basically the right way is to get a block of Aluminum and drill a hole slightly smaller than the shafts. Cut it in half. Then use a press to hold the shaft down while you try and get the rod end off. Not easy though as it's very high torque and lock tighted with some good shit.

I think even most rebuild shops just do full shafts rather than try to do the ends.

Id call ADS for the torque specs as I'm sure there is one and for sure lock tight it.

    What was the mileage?

Not surprised, your truck was clunking and clacking when you passed me. Not good noises.

Mileage was.... 56K. They go bad fast though. I last checked them at 12K ago. They were ready to be replaced, but there was no destruction at that point.

I figured the rod ends might be a PITA. Probably best to just send them down to ADS and get new ends put on. Already sent an email to Tyler at ADS; calling tomorrow if I don't hear back in the morning. I wish I wasn't so damn lazy. I need a mechanic.

Nice. I like that. I was thinking I'd make one out of wood, but for that price, I might as well just buy the aluminum one...

Ehh, there's always clunking and clacking from the limit straps. The squeaking, well... I knew it was time for bearings, but I just didn't know it was time for rod ends, hahahaha.

Idk if the wood would hold it honestly. :notsure:

Curious what they will say. And cost.

I used wood for rebuilds. My only question would be whether wood has enough clamping force/friction as compared to aluminum, which is obviously harder and stickier. The bummer is that I'm usually pretty good about this kind of thing, but this time, I'm just wasting money.
