I feel like it was a little risky to add a supercharger to a higher mileage engine but I did it anyway. I did start sending Blackstone Labs oil samples to try to be proactive, to see what was going on. It would seem that the RedHead is handling it well.

Looks cool! They do a small balloon fest here and it's always cool to wake up and see them floating up out of the river valley out my back yard.

Can really see the noise and chromatic aberration on the plane photos for some reason. Easy to fix the chromatic aberration.

It was cool to see them all take off, then splash in the river before continuing on.

And i noticed that after i posted it I dont really see that on the 100-400 so i wasnt looking for it. the 24-105 gets it pretty bad sadly. I was also shooting pre-dawn so the noise is higher on the plane photos. i still like how they came out though.

I was going to ask which lens it was out of curiosity. Still cool for sure.

I think that's a thing to land in the river and then take off again. One did that here which is quite the feat given all the trees.

Pulled a @turbodb and camped on the edge of two cliffs. On a saddle where the wind is howling. Can see for 80 miles in most directions. Hard sides make this soo nice, just enjoy the view without the wind.

Love it. We got a good cliff-edge camp on Thursday as well. No wind, so we enjoyed it... without the wind ;).

    https://www.youtube.com/embed/4atKocLXnDc

At the previous night's cliff edge, it started raining just as we arrived, so not quite as enjoyable in the morning with everything wet, but the clouds cleared, and things dried out well enough while we were out on our hike for the day.

Freaking wind really been ripping here the last day. Finally stopped brought a lot of smoke from western mt.

Big fire in the big horns right now though. Super sucks.

That looks pretty rad! Need to get out one more time before it gets too cold. It's just about there.

    Damn looks awesome

I will be curious how cold it gets by morning. It's chilly with the wind and 11k ft up isn't helping. Figured I needed to get up in the mountains before the snow flies, plotted plenty of routes in the desert for winter.

Drove through red rock cliffs, climbed through pinon one forests to Aspen groves baked in yellow leaves, to these gran views. This state is sorta slept on from what I can tell. So pretty.biggest thing I've noticed is most places are in-and-out. Not really finding routes that take you from A to B across long stretches of nothingness.

There are 2 fires outside Dubois that merged last night with all the wind. Supposedly 50,000 Acres currently

yeah lot of in and outs in MT too.

Im not surprised it's slept on. It's been on my list of places to check out just never put in the time to research. So glad you're there to pull us there.

Shit. The Elk fire is almost 70,000

Little photodump from my overnight trip. Was much overdue! It actually made me wonder, what is the highest I've ever camped? This spot was about 10,850ft up. Trying to think back to all our trips and I think it is the winner? Y'all remember anything higher?

Also i expected it to get cold up there, the wind died down and in the morning watching the sunrise it was a very pleasant 50 degrees.

    Looks pretty sweet!

I know we hit a few 10k on the colorado trips you weren't on. Mt Antero is like 10500ish I think. That was cold though.

I wasn't there for that one. Years ago we did a spot I think called clear lake? Not sure how high that one was. I really can't think of another one. And for good reason, before the van I would've wanted to get out of the wind. Hard sides make a big difference in not giving a damn about the wind or weather.

Antero is a 14er. On our second visit (since we didn't camp there on our first, hahaha), we got to 13,722 before turning around due to darkness. We camped much lower at 10,894'.

I figure out CO trips were the highest camping, and it looks like the highest points were:
    * 2019 - highest was 10,983 outside of Leadville, and 3 nights above 10,000 (the other two, just barely)
    * 2020 - the night after Antero, we were at a spot that was 11,006, and we had 3 nights above 10,800.

Today, I plopped in some new LBJs (previous set were ~2yrs and ~60K miles), and some longer studs and 1/2" BORA spacers. Hopefully fixed the rubbing on resis problem the new wheels were giving me...

Was happy to discover that - should I decide to go back to the previous wheels, or anything without the spacers - my lugs will work just fine - there is enough room "inside" for these longer studs.

Naturally you'd know the elevations of all our trips. Those were some colder trips for sure. no doubt in part to 11,000' camp spots lol

    Did it fix the rub?

yeah sad you weren't there. Did a lot of cool shit on those trips.

I don't remember the wind being bad at any of the CO trips. Few of the UT trips we had some insane nights with wind.

Seems to have fixed the rubbing in a trip around the block. Only an actual trip will really tell if it's gone on the trail. Maths of the new wheels/tires/backspacing combo suggests it should be fully fixed - pre-spacer, the inside edge of tire was 0.33" closer to the frame, now it's 0.17" farther away - but we all know tire maths are a little wonky given how they size tires.
