Got any off road bumper recommendations for the 3rd Gen 4runner @Blackdawg ? Not seeing a lot of options with a duck duck go search. Would like a simple front and tire carrier rear

Headed to take the kids to see the MORR games in March and trying to get the runner upgraded to be able to mildly explore the area while we are there.

Depending on your definition of mild, a small lift and decent/slightly larger tires will make a 4runner pretty dang capable. I’m sure you know that though - far be it from me trying to convince you not to put some sweet armor on your rig lol

Yeah I have some tires on it already, going to throw on an OME lift and call it a day. If bumpers work before then so be it. Really not needed but the stock ones are rough and a replacement would just look nice and potentially be functional if we happen to get stuck and need a pull

Nice, what does an OME kit go for these days? I just put ADS Mesa series coilovers and shocks on my 5th gen 4runner, basically their new entry level setup with no resi’s or clickers or any of that. Not cheap certainly, but not nearly as much as their race series stuff.

We ran a cbi bumper on grants.

    4xinovations is what I'd do though. https://www.4xinnovations.com/96-02-4Runner_c_9.html

Reliable company and should ship fast. I think their rear bumper is really clean in particular. Don't love the swing out design but you don't need that I'd think.

I think addicted off-road might still make a 4runner bumper.

How times have changed. Now they offer an entry level shock? Interesting.

Well, “entry level” for ADS. From my discussion with their applications engineer (who responded to my questions right away :p) all the interior components are the same, fully rebuildable, etc., just none of the extras that drive up the cost of the race series. Heck it’s like an extra $500 per shock to add clickers now.

    Jesus.

Well that's cool. Always been one of their things was you get the full enchilada. There were no tiers like king or fox.

Tons of diy kits now I see. Wild. But wouldn't recommend that. Building bumpers is time consuming. Well, as you probably know.

I feel you there, i want others to thrive too. It is not fun seeing others struggle. Reality is reality though, and try to find the things that make you happy and focus on those. I lost a massive part of me, the hobby of turning wrenches, tweaking, fixing, i loved it all and that was pulled out from under me. But you learn to adapt, to adjust and accept it. Doesnt make it easy, but certainly can allow you to refocus on different things. Accepting that life will throw you curveballs and navigating them is a good for the soul. So don't look at it all as doom and gloom my friend. We are all here and all gonna be exploring again soon. That will never change.

I've heard pros and cons with the manifold setups. But two houses I've lived in had a like central main pipe so a manifold would be running all the piping right next to each other anyways.

The monitor is nice.noce to see water usage day by day. Or when gone can set an alarm for if it uses more than X amount in a timeframe. Not that it would do much good since I don't have a auto/remote shutoff valve though lol. But could call a friend to turn it off. I know Moen (think it's them) makes a remote monitor and shutoff valve but I want to say it was like 700 bucks

Ah I didn't know you had gas. That definitely makes more sense than.
