I got so much shit for my tires from you guys. Probably around the campfire though, so there's no evidence. :spy:

Not that I didn't deserve it when I was spewing crap like, "My Pixel is just as good as those DSLRs."

Oh I'm sure we teased you because they were duratracs. And only 31s  Duratracs were known to slice their side walls really easily back in the day. So yeah of course we'd tease you for that. haha

I meant "still will" for Mac @adkmac. I have no doubt that I'd get the same shit - as it should be - that Monte gets for each and every repeat offense on the LBJs now. Then we could just throw the Tacoma, flat tire and all, in the rear end of the elephant. Plenty of room behind the rear axle. ;)

Honestly tires have been one of the main things I worry about going wheeling, more from a lack of traction than worrying about a flat, but still. I was up to the south end of the Bridger NF yesterday to see what conditions are like and would've tried to go a lot farther if I had more faith in my tires.

Doing some spur of the moment research, I found Goodyear Wrangler Ultraterrains for $200 each. They're as big as I can fit without a lift and I can use one of my 2 season old snows as a spare, I can have a full set mounted for <$1k. Trying to do the "paid off" mod but I don't mind throwing in some upgrades along the way and those tires have great reviews for all-around usage.

I appreciate knowing you guys would have my back if something went wrong, solo wheeling gets nerve wracking at times.

Upgrade before, or wait and hear us bicker and argue about tires around a campfire and pull the trigger later. As long as you have a spare that holds air you should be just find for a trip.

Really? I don't know much about them, but we were - for a short time - actually considering what we called a "mini-mobile" for our family vehicle. I'd still like to get one, but we really like the sustained high speeds of the Audi when we go places like California or to WY weddings.

With an offer like that, wait. Or rather, know that you'll get the same campfire conversation whether you've forked out the money already or not.

We can save it for a campfire discussion. They're fun little things. But the Toyotas are the way to go for suspension and engine support. The Mitsubishis are hard to even get repair parts for in Japan let alone here. That and they're notorious for overheating

Yeah I mean no real pressure. Not that far from town if something happens and easy to get you out on a spare tire. So send it! Plus, you can fit 35s if you wanted lol just have to cut some shit up..

you need to leave the damn city. Get some land. And then you can have room for the audi, the truck and the family van! Oh and a shop.

Well he's a 3rd gen guy. I gotta ease him into the long travel. And supercharger. And lockers. And gears. And..

I mean isn't that why we are still all friends some 10 years later? hahaha

Obviously this is his dress code now.
