So true. I've considered a street bike but even in a small town you just can't trust people on the road. On the mountain I've come across some dipshits going way too fast around corners in their $20k RZR on the main road but on trails i've never had any issues. People are generally respectful of eachother and of course no texting teeny bitches around to run you off the road. If you get hurt up there it's likely your own fault which is fine by me. I'd rather hurt myself than be at the mercy of someone else's stupidity. It usually only takes one good close call to make you slow down a bit and take your time on the trails lol.

My problem now is that the trails are still covered in snow so wheeling is still a ways off but the weather is nice enough to ride around and do some canyon carving on my bike. Dangerous but FUN!

Yeah same problem here, they'll probably be closed for another month or so by the looks of it. Luckily there's a track not too far away to ride on so thats where i'll be as soon as it dries up after this recent snow storm. Canyon carving? Now that sounds like a good time:D

I felt more in control of what happens on my motorcycle than I do in my truck.

Just because you feel more in control doesn't mean it's safer. Driving a car is significantly more dangerous than flying on an airplane, yet most people feel safer in a car because they are in control when driving.

It's never about control. It's about other people. Your way safer in a vehicle from other idiots then on a bike. Period.

Bikes are fun though. Even though I had mine for a very short time haha

Yeah if you're confident on a bike its very easy to feel in control i definitely won't argue with that. And an evasive maneuver is much easier on 2 wheels than it is in a 4 wheel drive.

I am not saying its safer if there is an accident. The times I have almost wrecked on a bike have been my own fault. I have avoided accidents on the bike just because I am far more alert, its more nimble, and I can "fit" in small gaps. Probably not going to see the guy that t-bones me at 70mph but I am also probably not going to live through that so o well. Most accidents are easily avoided just by being somewhat smart and paying attention to the cars around you.

I will have another motorcycle in my future. It will just be a cruiser next time.

I definitely want a nice cruiser at some point in my life. I've always wanted to build a bobber style Harley of some sort.

    Something along these lines

Damn Travis nice looking bike..Is that a Ducati? I'm not too keen on my sportsbikes but i know Ducati's are notorious for the single sided swingarms

Nope, not a Duc. But the single-sided swingarm was the appeal for me too. It's a 2002 Honda interceptor. One of the best street bikes ever made, in my opinion.
    Thanks, by the way.

Looks like I am going to have a slow week for school finally :woot:. Thinking about taking off friday afternoon for some time away from home and put the hammock to use. I should have my fancy fender cutting tool sometime this week too so I can finish the front and rear fenders followed by a much needed detailing of the truck on sunday.

Yeah, they are like burr-free sheet metal cutters. Tyler at Pelfrey suggested them over the grinder. I gotta take another .5'' out of the fronts so figured I would give it a try.
