Pictures! Sorry for the random order and kind of goofy coverage, was having too good of a time to really worry about pictures haha.

Slightly overcooked this group shot but it'll work for now

was a nice less traveled trail! Some good obstacles and ledges, not a walk in the park but you should be fine. The chute was pretty gnarly at the top. and most obstacles have an easier line. Also a few tight turns but they had an area to get lined up and turned to make the turn. Scraped bumper coming off a steep ledge and drug transfer case skid a few places. can get really off-camber if you get on the wrong line so be careful.

    Crap...

The wrapped I ordered was enough to wrap the hood, roof, and tailgate but I cut it wrong and used a bit to much on the tailgate on accident. Sooo I am just shy of enough for the hood. I am gonna redo the tailgate and order the new color for the sides of the truck and then enough of the black metal to finish the roof.

:frusty:. I am officially done with the black brushed metalic. My fear came true tonight. I picked up a heat gun to help out more than the blow dryer. Worked like a charm and was similar to when I installed the 3m with a heat gun. Bad news is that if it stretches even the slightest you could see it. So in order to install this wrap you would need at least 2 very careful people. I'll be ordering matte again. Now I just gotta settle on a color haha.

Did you have issues with the 3m showing stretches? What colors are you considering?

No but that is most likely due to the color. Matte colors are solid so no matter where you stretch it it will maintain a uniform look. However, if you stretch/heat matte to far it gets kinda glossy I guess.

My problem is that this material has a directional pattern. Straight lines basically. So anytime you pull on the vinyl it changes the direction. I'll take back saying that it requires 2 people but you have to be damn good to do it alone. There were a lot of things I screwed up on this go around. First off I tried a new approach. Previously I have been going from top to bottom but had read its better to work from the middle out. I tried that and I ended up pulling more on one side than the other and it became uneven. Since I pre cut the vinyl close I now have a small spot that it doesn't cover. I also tried to pull it over and that resulted in damaged vinyl. Its not as bad as I thought it would look like in person but its enough for me to avoid the color.

I am looking at the matte colors again and its between od green, matte white, or matte pearl blue (unlikely but its similar to the speed way blue).

All in all I lost $50 but gained a good amount of experience with these wraps. I think they will work just fine for my needs and I should be able to have a pretty good looking finish for a novice do-it-yourselfer haha.

I have some chunks of it left. Ill be using a little bit to clean up some interior pieces but otherwise they are up for grabs. not really big enough to wrap much. One piece might fit a 1st gen tailgate and the other would work for things like mirrors. Maybe a 1st gen grille but not sure.
