    more and more of them seem to be coming out lately. I thing it is a need vs care thing. most of the personal offroad community doesn't necessarily need like the racing community does. That's why fins are so common on 4+" diameter shocks. But the fins likely get damaged over time from rocks that get kicked up as well as being an extra place for mud to stick and start corroding the bodies sooner/easier so they are as ideal for people like us who are going to run them for years to come. A lot of race crews rebuild shocks between races so they get cleaned up and looked over far more often than the average Joe's do.

    so I need to figure out a way to protect the air intake. I checked out the filter and its filthy and mud is getting sucked up like crazy. If I just throw a sock on it do you guys think it would be fine until I can get something to replace the liner? I am not worried about water around here. The mud and dirt is an issue though.

    I drove up red grade quite a ways and its for the most part snow free. Snow is still present around 9-10k but probably won't be bad.
