Yea I got a full cab and bed for 500ish. Was a lot in gas though.

Plus..shit load of time and work to do.

 

I got extremely lucky. I was up there packing up the rest of my stuff and we apparently left right before it hit.

Yeah I bet the body shop will be well over 6-7k. My hail damage estimate was over 6k. And the deer running into the passenger side of the cab was around 3k. Definitely not forking out that kind of cash at this point lol. Im not totally sure what I'm gonna do yet but I think I'll try to get the bed sorted out first. The more I think about it the more I like the flat bed idea.

No kidding. Part of me is just saying fuck it who cares but another part of me has trouble just leaving it like that. Not to mention I can barely open/close the door..

For the time being, (after you get an estimate) I'd beat the panel back into place so the door works okay. You might get it close enough to call it good for a trail truck. But that C pillar is pretty bad, and I'd seriously think about the new cab route. It may be a lot of work, but you'll save a shitload of cash. Plus you'll learn a lot more about your truck. Monte and I can attest to that.

Hey man, sorry to see this. Definitely fixable from the looks of the pic, might get close to the blue book value of the truck tho. Definitely get a few quotes tho. Then go after that bastard.

 

I'm thinking I might try to tear into it this weekend and see if I can't make it any better. But a cab swap at some point will probably be the best route to go I totally agree with that.

Just out of curiosity..could a double cab fit on this particular frame?

Hell yeah with both of us I bet we could make EVERYTHING go wrong! We could probably set a beer drinking record with the amount of stress involved.

 

I have a feeling it's going to get very pricey going through a body shop. Especially if it turns out that our flatbedded friend didn't have insurance like he said he did. Truck already has a salvaged title so I'll most likely be taking it into my own hands. The officer will call me tomorrow so after that I'll figure out the best course of action.

Double cab will fit, but hard to find I'm sure. Standard cabs won't fit.

Anythings possible with some modification. A guy here put a extended cab on a single cab frame and bobbed the front of the bed. It didn't seem to work to well though. He tried to get rid of it but everyone gave him crap about it lol

Double cab will fit but you have to cut off and 're weld the rear mounts and bed mounts.
