Hey now! That's probably true but I have been wanting this far longer than other things. Just exchanging emails with the company before deciding.

 

Alright, so the tent can be sized down and the price difference is about $100. The weight of the smaller tent, stove, and liner will be around 8.5lbs with the large stove.

So roughly 9.5lbs for the larger tent.

Split the load with a friend when backpacking and its not bad at all for having a massive back country palace and warmth. Not to mention we wont need to pack heavy cold weather bags.

Ill be going for the 6 man because when someone does join me they will likely have a dog as well. 2 people, plus gear, plus dogs...thats a lot of space.

Haha when truck camping, probably. Not like i will have a bunch of gear in there other than a cot. Probably be able to fit most everyone and their camp chairs.

Haha yep! Still heavy but not bad for a hot tent of this size. It should work out just fine in the winter. The stove probably wont be used at all in during the summer for backpack trips and it will be lighter than my previous tents (outside of the hammock and tarps).

I like the feel of a 30-40lb bag so as long as its under that weight I don't really care.

I need some insight here........

so i just bought a new battery for the truck and the pos/neg posts are flipped from the previous battery. This unfortunately means that my cables are not long enough to reach the terminals. I made it work for now with a 2 gauge jumper but it's only a temporary fix. So the question becomes is there an ideal way to extend the cables? i've looked into heavy gauge butt connectors as well as soldering but i'm a little hesitant on both for various reasons. Do you have any suggestions?

i'm also using this as an excuse to try and clean up the wiring a little and upgrade post connections
