Ben..i think you are going to have more then you think man..haha you are about to start a REAL job. It won't take long for the 200-400 a month "fun fund" to build up to buy your stuff.

200-400 a month will be nothing to save for that.

hell..even if you set aside 100 a month you'd have enough for most of it by then. And that will be nothing.

But yes..i is a lot to do as much as i have.. sometimes i wish i hadn't..had had gotten $3000 dollar speakers and other nice recording gear..

    But....

then i go out in Frank..

and it all makes sense :)

Monte's right, besides you buying a car and looking to invest in a house man you still will have funds for fun. Id doesn't mean you need to go throw a solid axle under it. Your smart thinking practically but don't forget why you worked so hard to get here.

    you'll make it fine.

But you will need armor. Your aren't going without full skids.

Bumpers..eh..a rear with bedside protection i think is a must. Front..idk..probably get away with bending the thing over some stuff..haha

But without skids, you shouldn't even try it. Spliting the Tcase would not be a fun ordeal to have to work with.

Yea but come on! Its a freaking radio! so cool.

Can't wait till we get into Hi Fi..THEN it'll be super bad ass.

My dad has this cool thing where he basically has a mobile repeater and stuff now too. Its cool!

But yea..when i first got here we use the phone to test out the radios on various setups

once it worked, we would hang up the phones :p haha

its cool though! now that we have it figured out..or at least one part.

I fire up my radio every time i get in Igor. i key the mic and it connects to the repeater and my dad if he is monitoring will see me pop up. If he doesn't, my raido automatically sends out my GPS info every 10mins and keys it to the repeater. You can even track where i have been

    go to aprs.fi

    search KG7LSU

Then he can see if im out and about and call me. Its pretty sweet. With a new setup we will be able to just enter in our call sign and it'll just go to the last know repeater we used and broadcast for us automatically.
    thats me!

sure. But the radio is easier to talk on while driving. And the GPS stuff is cool to see.

and Its nice to just chat by chance rather then a call..idk.

    We like it :D

Ok you nay-sayers.... Its much more than what Monte is describing. He has only scratched the surface of what I know and I know enough to know that I don't know shit. I am going to form a club and I'm in need of a name for it. So I am asking all of you future HAMS what we should call our club. I am doing this so we will have a repeater available just for us, and I'll form a starnet group where we can meet, also I'm building it. I'll help those who want it to build their own hotspots so we can communicate with the startnet/repeater. So for now I just need a nifty name for our club.
