    The UG asks how many miles you traveled and how many gallons you added when you fuel up and compares it to what it read and adjusts the calibration from there. It does show you the percentage adjustment on that screen so you can just enter in numbers to get the percentage you want if you know it.

    For fuel calibration, it suggests using the same station and same pump every time while calibrating to get a good calibration, and I suggest hanging on to all of your receipts since you will have to add them together every time you fuel up to adjust the calibration number correctly. I usually have it pretty close after about 5 fuel ups.

    I haven't seen an SG in person, but from all that I have seen there are only 3 differences I know of, the SG costs almost 3 times as much as the UG. The SG can read auto trans temp on 2nd gens while the UG cannot, and the UG's screen is much bigger than the SG.

    One difference I am not sure about, is I believe on the SG you can add in missing sensor readouts, but this involves knowing the can bus coding very well and spending some time programming it, or hoping that someone already did the leg work for you. The UG has no other external connection besides the OBDII port so you can't change the software. But other than auto trans temp on a 2nd gen, the UG already reads everything.

    only autos get the tranny temp feature. My SG is always within 2 or 3 tenths of what the miles/math method nets me at each fill up. I run the SG at 9.2% for calibration of millage.

    SG can see all the sensor data coming from the ECU. I primarily chose it over the UG because of its ability to read the trans temps in almost real time (about every 2 seconds it updates). It does this through XGauge codes developed by SG. The XGauge development work may be part of the reason for the additional costs. :notsure: I don't really care actually, the trans temp is that important to me.

    Not quite, XGauge codes in my SG would not work on the Raisin. Since then, I've read that on 1st gens those codes only work on '98-'04 models. Something must be different for '95.5-'97 models, either in the ECU or in the trans. Those code also worked on Mark's '07 Tundra.

    I want to say that mine is 7.2%. I'm note sure those numbers really mean anything outside of the vehicle they are for tho.
