4wd would be nice in the snow! they don't do it in bad weather here i think..although i don't really know..

I wanted to try rallycross but they don't do anything thing like that in wy or mt. Do in co though.

just straight up real offroad racing in wy..lol

 

yea, and a manual. Igor wouldn't be fun with the auto...i think anyways..

and the bottomed out suspension..lol

 

yea most those races don't get out of 1st or 2nd..but still..idk..

So it looks like that retrofit GB for 1st gens is going to happen. I am interested in opinions. I realize it is what I like, but I also respect you guy's perspectives.

I was originally thinking of leaving the reflector and the shroud chrome but then someone did a photoshop of it and.. well, seems a little bleh,



I am going to stay with the chrome surround on the grill and marker lights. If I could find side marker lights that a little darker than what I have, this setup would look amazing. Blacked out reflector and shroud with a while halo behind the shroud.



Or blacked out reflector with chrome shroud.



There is also a another possibility. That is blacking out some of the reflector similar to the 2nd gen hoousing.



Thoughts?

 

I'd have to see it on the truck, but I feel like the black/chrome similar to the 2nd gen would suit best since you're keeping the chrome surround.

Do what I said at Christmas. Blacked out housing with chrome shroud for the projector.

I've considered it. I think I would want diferent side makers if I went that route. I do like the idea of the chrome shroud tying in with the chrome surround.

Would you do a halo too?

 

I don't think you'd have to get different markers..but you can always do that later if you want. Thats easy to replace and cheap..

I think id do halos yea. Have them come on with the marker lights or work as like DTRL or something. They are kinda poser..but makes for good photos

 

Are you gonna make them change colors too mike?

 

I vote for the some black some chrome like the 2nd gen

 

So you would think but, so far I've not found any for '01-'04 models that have the chrome surround. They all have the black or paintable surround. There are 'kits' that include headlight housings and turn signal lens housings but I don't need those.

Both of you guys have vehicles with projectors. Don't you wish you had them on your Tacomas?

I really like this one too. A little more expensive with the halo addon. I think that looks 'right' because of the blackend side markers tho.

Lets face it, our headlights suck. Better bulbs do help but the improvement is marginal.
