The concerns about aftermarket vs OEM is around how well (or not) the aftermarket housings are sealed against moisture intrusion. Seeing as no matter which is used, the retrofit itself means that they will be opened up and resealed so that OEM advantage is gone. It seems like regardless of which one is used, protection of the out facing plastic is imperative.

The real downside to OEM is cost. It is an extra $240 to use OEM housings.

Yeah, I am expecting no less than 6 week wait times once he focuses on making some 1st gen versions. That has been the main hold up for us, getting enough guys interested. That isn't an issue for the 2nd gen guys.

 

Kind of wish he would finish current orders before taking on more. He originally told me 3 weeks.

 

He first proposed a 1st gen GB the day after Thanksgiving. Almost 3 months ago.

 

For all that money up front im not impressed right now.

 

Just got back from dinner with the girls parents. They are nice. It went great.

 

Plus the food was awesome..haha

 

Is the up front money like 50% of your total bill?

I understand your anger Jeff. I hate how quite a few vendors on here consistently tell people it will take considerably less time than it should. Pelfrey is shipping my bumpers 3/4

Yeah, via fastenal. The other choices were 600+ for shipping and no way am I paying that much.

Hybrid and HC rear.

 

Fastenall took about 4 weeks shipping time for me and actually lost it at one point in timeand actually tweaked my bumper when they smashes into it with a fork lift.

Glad to hear you got a hc rear so can can chop off your floppy ass meat.

 

Yeah, they said it will be 3-4 weeks. Hopefully they don't damage it but that's what insurance is for.

 

My bumper showed up fast and with no damage via fastenal....

 

Same here. Less then a week and no issues.

 

Hopefully mine gets here fast. Actually I don't really care haha, they have to sit until its nice enough to paint them

 

Nah, paint them in your garage asap. Stop the rust.

 

It wont be warm enough. Ill bring them inside until a day that gets into the 50's. Then Ill prime them and wait for another nice day to paint. I don't think it will be a long wait with the winter we have had.

Its been very odd. We have a few days where it snows and then it jumps back up to 40 - 50 and sunny. I have rocked shorts and a shirt rather comfortably at least once a week since mid January. It dropped to 0 ish today but next week will be in the 40's again.
