Ill look tomorrow but I think a sleeve popped out from the hinge on the gate. I am not sure how I manage to screw everything up but it's impressive

 

The bottom dust shield is up side down and so is the top bearing in this.

Put the dust shield on first then the bottom bearing. Then the swingout goes on. Drop the top bearing on and then just tap it a round while wiggling the swingout up and down till the beating goes down. Then the nut goes on.

Should be fine.

Damn it I want to go fishing! I got a fly rod the other day and need to try it out.
Also my prjectors are weird. When on brights there are very bright lines to both sides out in front.

How do you break a swingout? Haha

 

No put the bottom bearing in the swing out small part of the cone facing the middle of the sleeve then tap the seal into the swing out. Place swing out on spindle with the top bearing ready to drop onto the spindle into the swing out small part of cone facing the middle of the sleeve. Put washer and castle nut on torque down so all moves freely but no up and down movement on swing out. Also everything should be packed with grease....that's to make it easier. Haha...

 

Thanks Steve, that was better instructions than what I got . Anyways, the sleeve for the small bearing came out so we decided to just press it in using the castle nut and washer but it just broke. Not sure what to do now but I'll be mesaging Tyler in the morning.

 

Bummer Gage, I've got no experience with swing outs but what Steve said was a good description of what I saw John and Monte doing with Mikes when they put it on!

BTW Steve, how are those coilovers riding?!

 

Haha yeah I had no clue what I was doing. I was going off that picture I posted earlier...which was very much wrong.

 

Just get a number off of the bearing or cup. You can probably get one for less than 10 bucks. Coils are good so far but I haven't really had much of a chance to get them worked in.

 

Gage did you get the number I texted you?

 

Yea Gage, take the bearing to NAPA and have them look up the numbers. I bet they will have one on the shelf. If they dont have numbers stamped on the bearing NAPA can measure it and come up with a replacement. Ask them to give you a jobber price as your a student. Makes the parts much cheaper

 

Do it. Although is it open even? Idk how the plowing works up there. Think they open Yellowstone this month tho.

Be a good time to go before too many tourists go there. But July is the best there. Or August of course when its mountain spring sfrom what I've heard.

Really dry year though. Hope the fires aren't bad this year

 

You wont be able to drive thru the park. The going to the sun road is only open during the summer months depending on how much it snowed up there.
