No they are the same just different lengths. Same with the now discontinued 5150s.

 

Plus it's not like you couldn't have relocated the OME shocks when you get shackles. They are 9" shocks. Be easy to make fit. Mikes are only 8.5"

 

IMHO, you made the correct choice here. It is a temporary fix and going with 5125s is the most cost effective choice. That is assuming you purchased the correct lengths for your application.

When the time comes to replace your springs, you can then decide if the current shocks lengths will still work or not. Relocating shock mounts will only make sense when you are ready to do your rear setup correctly.

Well, going to discuss pricing and what not on the new place on thursday. My friend said to expect around $350 ish a month. Which means truck parts! *After I graduate and secure a job.

Did you check out ADS at all Josh? I do love my kings but in the last year I've had 3 hydrolocks out of my rears. Not the catastrophic kind but the kind where nitro passes the IFP in the reservoir and leaves me with a zone of air in the shock body ( IE: no damping of any kind...). Each time the shock got new seals, so I think I got a poorly machined IFP or resi... Next time it happens they are going to DSM for a once over then selling them and i'm going to ADS. My front coilovers have been bulletproof so it may just be a lemon pair of rears for me

Before anyone comment on me not knowing what i'm doing rebuilding shocks, my front coilovers that i rebuilt months ago are still on the money... And Mike's rears are still good i'm pretty sure? que digirat

I know Jeff has measurements of my rear shock hoop setup on a napkin somewhere... I can get you measurements of my Pelfrey kit doods wanting to hoop, but you may have to pay Tyler a design fee

Me? Nice? No way.

The idea of adjusters on the rear is fascinating. On my previous Tacoma I had Ranco RS9000s on the rear with a 6 way adjuster on each one. Stiff for off-road, soft for on-pavement. That is what worked back then with those old-style emulsion shocks.

Will be interesting to see what 'clickers' can do with all this shock tech that is available now.

I did check them out a little bit, at least tried to anyways. I can't seem to find any online vendors for ADS maybe i'm just stupid idk. My guess is the latter of the two. I'll shoot them an email directly and maybe get a price on fronts and rears.

I'm super interested to see how they do as well. If it's anything like the clickers on a dirt bikes suspension it should be pretty bitchin. Just twist a couple screws on the front forks and a couple on the rear shock and it changes the ride drastically. Pretty sweet for when you wanna soften it up for trail riding or stiffen it up for the track.

Clickers are a great idea for the mid travel rig I think. Ads has 20 clicks.

DSM sells them. But you have to call. Or call Matt at MCM fab. He is a direct dearler. Where I'm going to get mine. Or call ads directly. The cool overs are pricey. But they are extended travel and come with resi. No other option haha so you'll need UCAs too.
