From what I understand it's the federal gov give land back to the states and the states are selling it cause they are broke...except us

No clue, I am more so confused why I haven't heard of any of this. I read about it some last month and it just disappeared. I was writing a paper on land ethics and thought it would be a good example of a modern day issue. I didn't think it would go this far . I was hoping someone that kept up with the times in here might be more knowledgeable on the topic and say it isn't as bad as it sounds...

 

There is no way this can be a good thing for any of us that like to get out and explore. Private sale will lead directly to access restrictions.

 

It's not good for anyone in the long run. Shouldn't be happening at all.

 

I'm pretty sure it's all just talk right now. One of the senators (from Arkansas I believe) introduced the amendment to the budget to be able to sell lands but it has met hard challenges from western states senators

But from what I have read it's gonna be a real dirty fight with the western states and citizens if this does happen

 

If it passes, nothing we can do at that point. Least not for a while. Take a long time to reinstate a new bill to over turn it.

If anything, the eastern states will sell land and the western ones will just be like cool. Resume as things where. Just state land now.

But not forever I'm sure.

Bet it won't go through the house though. Not if Cali is pissed about it haha

 

Luckily I believe there isn't anything like this in the house yet so I hope it dies in the senate.
