Haha screw you. I have! Mostly Alaska but I haven't had the time to get through much of em. I really like the lens though.

I read your trail report. I can understand why haha. I've got an access cab though, so maybe it'd be better than a DCLB? I may just run it from the north and turn around at the switchbacks.

 

That section from the highway to the top of the switchbacks is definitely fun and scenic.

 

Yes still so,e awesome trail up there without doing the switchbacks.

So surveys should be done tomorrow and that should end the 10-12 hour work days until we do it again in July. I am assuming I have friday/saturday off so I am planning a trip to snowy. I doubt anyone will join but Ill post up here anyways. Unsure on the conditions but I was told the lakes are thawed out good enough to fish so I am guessing the roads are partially open...well open enough. Undecided if I will be camping, probably will depend on my passenger if they come.

 

Nice. Considering getting out anywhere this weekend... Fishing would be a bonus. What flys you bringing? I still need to get a few...

 

For up there I normally use a small elk hair caddis. I also keep Blue winged olive, mosquitoes, black ants, gnats, and some adams dry flies. I think most of mine are around size 20 and they will eat just about anything when they are feeding. If there is a stream I normally fish a rainbow warrior midge or zebra midge.

Before you know it you will have most of it down. I have a lot to learn on the bug side of things but I know enough to catch a fish most of the time. Have you learned how to cast yet?

 

Are you thinking about coming out Marc? If so, I might run up tomorrow after work to see if it is actually worth your time.

 

I am right there with you. I bought a fly rod but have yet to use it. Past 5 years i have been using a bait caster to fly fish lakes with. Actually works pretty good. And i would say i have had my best luck with tan elk hair cadice up on Mirror, Marie and south gap lake.

 

Mine will do that. As well as two other directions.

 

Here I was all stoked I had an original idea again...haha
