    Well if it is just the uv5r, i got one about a year and a half ago. I am not impressed with it. I was only getting about 3/4 mile transmission range on it.

    Flat ground cant pick up transmission of our farms private band radio either base station, mobile, or handheld units we have at a mile or greater. And takes a week to traverse the settings, offsets and menus. And yet no hard copy to thumb through for in depth set up.
