He's 5-ish pounds shy of Ash. What a beast of a pup haha.

He's almost 6 months. He doesn't seem that big but then I remember how old he is haha.

Bed rack is close to done. Welding in the tent bars then gotta test the whole thing before burning everything else in for good. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel!

Google repeater list. Then look up the closest repeater to you and tune into it. May or may not hear anything depending on how many people use it. You might have to do the offset. Will be different depending on the band and occasionally different depending on who set it up

 

The + or - is the offset. Because you can't send and receive on the exact same freq. so it receives on the freq you tune to but broadcasts on an offset.

Like 2m is usually + 5 hz.

It'll teach you that eventually.

 

Yea the handhelds do fine. But the big dog radios do some cool shit.

 

Yea it'll do all that. But there are big dog handhelds too. My icon handheld has GPS for instance.

If I echolinked into a repeater there or you did into one here then yea.

But unless you have dstar, can't go further then the repeater or repeaters if they are linked.

And FYI...you haven't even started down the rabbit hole. Haha

 

Go to repeaterbook.com. look up your area, find a local repeater. Then program your radio for the correct frequency. If it has a PL tone make sure you put it into the program or it won't open the squelch.
