2m 144-150 is 600 khz
70cm 440-450 is 5 mhz

 

You probably need to set the tone then. What is the callsign of the repeater your trying to listen to.

so you need to set the tone to 136.5. Which radio do you have?

 

Did you get a program cable with it? If you did the easiest way to program it is to download a program called chirp. Go to repeaterbook.com then download the repeaters for your area as a csv file. Import into chirp then upload to radio. makes it alot faster.

 

thats not unusual one is 2m and the other is 70cm with the same callsign. I just quoted the 70cm one.

its extremely complicated, for a freaking bed rack. Taken me damn near 3 weeks to build. It works though! Gonna be better once the handles go on. The more we use it the better it works though. Its kinda finicky but still does the job.

So the tilting is for access and fully extended is for camping/sleeping and low/flat is how it will sit the rest of the time for low center of gravity/aerodynamic sleekness?

 

Yep!

Has side tilt for access to stuff there. Probably how ill pack the tools and stuff i use most. Then rear tilt up for ease of access as well for lunch or whatever. Fully up for camping. Although it doesn't have to be.

Be down flat for travel. Whole tent is below the roof line now.

has gas struts in all 4 corners too. Works pretty slick. I'll have video of it.

 

Is it heavy?

 

Lighter then my old one. Course it had the roof rack..

Overall it is lighter i think yes. Its all just 1.5'' tubing and 1.25 and some 1/4'' angle iron and 1/8'' angle.

besides..the likely hood of ben getting my elite is pretty small..

Sweet. The concept is interesting. Be curious to see how it does for you. Moving pieces on the trail can sometimes get interesting.

The likelihood of me being able to afford it was low anyway, stupid truck is gonna need a head-gasket by the end of the summer (it leaks, but not enough to warrant taking out a loan to do it right this minute). I almost have enough for new tires and wheels so those are first, plus they'll hold me to making sure I put the engine right. Working them 40+ hour weeks, I might have mod money after the maintenance and fixes.
