Unfortunately I probably won't have time to get out and camp. I'll be dogsitting while I'm there and the gf will be with me and she's not much of a camper haha but anytime on Saturday I should be free so if you find some free time definitely get in contact.

 

I'll try to break her in one of these days.

Yeah I think when the time is right I can get her out. She likes the idea of camping out under the Softopper in my truck. I think the whole idea of sleeping in a tent out in the middle of nowhere gets her anxiety going lol.

 

I think shed enjoy it if she ever did it. Mine was very hesistant at first but after the first night loved how peaceful and quiet everything was

 

Unless something changes we can do it Saturday. Liz is excited to come out and camp as well.

Canada has truly been amazing but has had its moments.. The pic was posted when we had free wifi. None of us have our phones turned on here.

The big info is C-Bob had two sidewall punctures at the same moment which presented a bit of a challenge. He ended up with 4 brand new shoes.

Monte and Devon are headed homeward and should be well across the border by now. I am in Cranbrook because the RedHead is injured. Lost another driver side rear axle seal. So Alpine Toyota will begin repairs in the morning. Timmy headed north to explore the Banff area right before we discovered the axle seal leak.

 

U and Timmy gonna meet back up? Sorry to hear about the issues... Hope a good time was had by all regardless!

 

It was a truly memorable experience. So, so much happened that was amazing. I am sure we will be talking about these things for a long time. A good time was definitely had.

I am on my own here and that's Ok. Monte had a deadline to meet and Timmy is off on a rip ( ) to likely followup on an invite to join some of the BC guys we met on Whipsaw.

 

It happened on a shelf road near the summit of Moly Peak (the highest point in BC). A 1000 ft drop off on one side and sharp, exposed rock on the other. He was just unlucky. I rubbed mine in the same spot and only bruised the sidewalls. Could have easily happened to me too. Then we would have been in real trouble. Not enough spares and a long, long way to replacements.

 

WTF! All the places we went to in the Okanogan, From Chelan to Twisp and Winthrop is on fire.

 

Truck update: Right side bearing, seal and brakes are ok. The drivers side bearing is exploded/shattered. I haven't seen it but they are saving the pieces for me. No OEM bearing locally so going with aftermarket so it can be finished up this afternoon.

 

ouch, thats a rough one. whats the warranty on the new bearing/seals if it happens again?

 

That's the thing. I just had this all done not 2K ago. New seals, bearings, brakes and drums. Their warranty was 12 months. I will talk to the place that did the work to see if a warranty claim is possible.

Between Timmy and I, we have been good for the BC economy.

 

Thats what i had thought. Sucks it happened again, you should be able to get something back. cant wait to see pictures from that half!

 

I was driving through downtown Nelson the other day when i look over and see a couple overland Tacomas parked on the street. At first i was like "Sweet rigs!" then i saw Frank and was blown away to see all three of your trucks here in Nelson! I hung around for 10 min but figured you guys were eating or in a hotel.
You guys should have gotten in touch with me i would have shown you around! Did you guys do whipsaw? Where did you come into Canada from?
Which KalTire did you go to? I work for Kaltire in Nelson.
