It would be in December haha so I'm guessing a bad call. And I would come up through SLC and out toward the Black Hills so probably the 80 a majority of the way... I'm still planning on flying home, but could save some money and move some things if I drive.

First car, really sucks not having my Pickup when I need it...

 

Well..not always. I mean, I80 is only like..the most dangerous interstate to travel in the winter besides I90 from missoula to billings..haha

But will depend on the weather man. I drive at louis home. Usually okay. Once..was bad..but whatever haha

I'll be you'll be fine. Snow usually isn't crazy by then..sometimes..idk. Hard to say right now.

And the 8-9 reference was packed up, ready to roll. Not rolling outa bed at 8 or 9. I was also referring to an August/summer time trip, not a November trip.

 

I wouldn't sweat it. You most likely will not run into trouble but if you do just respect the weather and either pull off or slow down. Occasionally there is a winter storm over Christmas. Pack for the worst and expect to possibly spend the night in a ditch. If the weather turns sour near Laramie, and I am still around, you are welcome to wait it out at my place.

 

Really if he goes to the black hills he would go north from Rawlins to Casper.

I'm sure it'll be fine. It's supposed to be a dry winter this year...sadly..

Being from South Dakota I'm accustomed to driving in snow/Winter. I simply don't feel as confident now that I own my first 2wd vehicle without plenty of ground clearance ha.

Last time I went in the ditch the snow was up to my mid-thigh (I know because I have manually locking hubs haha) and I just threw it in 4L and pulled out.

 

On a side note, a lot of you WY folks have super bright headlights with no cutoff. I presume for wildlife on back roads but dang was I blinded a lot coming through ha.

 

Dude that I swear is tourists. I drove up the north fork this summer and wanted to kill people. It's not usually like that. People tend to be curious and turn them off. I was dying to be driving Frank to fry their retinas

 

Truck is going back into the dealer tomorrow . Lets hope they can get it fixed up.

BabyTaco needs a 3.9L V8 out of the last generation Ford Thunderbird.

 

I say v6 because it would be super simple.

V8 just screws with too much. Hell. Really won't fit without a lot of shit so nah.

 

Stock v6. A lot more power than stock with all the reliability and simplicity.

If somehow it was cheaper to swap in a v6, then you bet your ass I would be finding a way to get baby taco to you over christmas with a v6 to drop in!

Please, I can see the difference between the weight of a 4 cylinder and the v6 in the snow. I don't want to sink into every snow drift I find!

This too. I am not a mechanic. I am not the guy you call up to diagnose a problem. Everytime something went wrong I would have to do a crap ton of research or dish out some cash to a mechanic to figure it out.
