Thanks guys. It's been a rough year as far as losing friends.

What are everyone's plans for the winter? Break is fast approaching. I will not be able to do anything before Christmas. I believe I am done with classes around the 15th but I will be going to my buddies wedding in South Carolina the 19th-23rd. I am most likely going to drive back to Sheridan early morning of the 24th. The spring semester doesn't start until January 25th or something ridiculous like that.

I wouldn't mind meeting up with some guys for things other than wheeling. Winter kind of shuts us down here but if there is something fun we could do as a group I would be interested.

Sooo, softopper is getting put on hold. Pulled the trigger on a new lens

The softopper was hard to swallow. Its not far from the cost of a hard shell

 

Most hard toppers are closer to a grand..

 

Yeah, I have been quoted $1-1.5k for basic models. The softopper new is ~$750 before shipping

 

Dude..that's twice as much. Haha that's pretty far from the same..

Meh. He shoots a Sony a6000. So who knows.

 

Factor in a new head unit for the back up cam and its not far from a $1000 base level shell.

In the end it is a temporary fix. If I am going to spend the money then I should just do it right. A shell will last the lifetime of my truck. The soft topper canvas will eventually need replaced. When I graduate the security a shell gives will be much appreciated as I probably jump from one seasonal job to another.

 

That said, if one popped up used at or below $400 I would pick it up. I just don't think they are worth much more than that.

 

That's why I said screw the softopper and ordered a hard cap... Really looking forward to the dry clean secure space it is going to give me. Tent might be going away
