We've got a few ground tents that we'll probably bust out again if it doesnt work to sleep in the topper. But it looks like sleeping in the topper should work out after having it a few days now. It's not going to be an RTT but for how much we've used it in the last year i'm not going to mind.

O right, hopefully that works out. Does Jax stay in a kennel outside then?

Yep he always sleeps outside. The only downside will be unpacking to sleep in the cap. It feels like a lot of space in there, but time will tell.

I doubt unpacking will be that bad. It takes a minute of two to completely unload a bed and chuck some tubs under the truck. With the softopper I want to finally make a platform so I can have a place to sleep when I am being lazy and don't want to set up the tipi.

Pretty sure you pack way more crap than Marc. He is also super organized so I am sure everything will be in easy to remove totes. He also doesn't have to raise his bed rack. Be quicker to unpack a truck than open an rtt IMO.

I'll just pack everything in totes. Won't take long at all to unpack. You forget I have four doors and lots goes in the back seat.

Yea I saw no point in keeping it given my intentions to sleep in the cap.

A rack could be nice, I've got tires and possibly gears to buy... Rack won't happen for a while if it does. I like the gas mileage I'm getting right now too.

If you got a rack you could easily mount a few pelican cases up top and keep the bed pretty much open.

nah i don't pack as much anymore. My problem was the fridge this last trip. Was too tall for my bed rack so i lifted the tent on blocks to clear the fridge and then had to raise the bed rack to get to it because it opened opposite of the side lift that my rack does due to the cord being too short. It was my dads fridge, mine didn't make it in time. My actual once will solve my problems as it fits under the rack at the right height so i won't have to open it. I'll pack it with all the OSK stuff up front and just keep the food and stuff at the end and on the driver side to use the side lift.

Yea the back seat is nice. I just always think back to when Ben has his topper on Lolo haha man it just seems annoying to have to unpack and setup the bed every night. For short trips im sure it isn't a big deal though.

Needs a swingout at least now though :D then youd have a bad ass half covered kitchen too!

My "big" trip is going to happen at the beginning of summer. I don't think I will be able to partake in yours given the time you guys have talked about.
