    Thank god I'm good friends with the Toyota dealership guys in powell...not that I'll ever use warranty but yea.

    I think they will do what anyone would at any dealership, try and not do it for free. In anyway possible. If you fight about it enough you'll win out I think.

    And what?! @SconnieHailer like you could ever claim warranty on anything at this point haha especially if you do gears. Buck up! 35s!

    Well, dealerships get paid to do the work. Toyota pays the dealership to do it so it would be beneficial for them to do it...

    :p I know. I pretty much threw the warranty option away for everything after the dealer was a dick about my leaky rear diff and I fixed it myself.
    I've been reading so much on 35s... My eyes hurt but I'm definitely considering it.

    It's a lot of extra work, for a small payout. But, I like them. Granted not totally sure Id do it on a more dd type truck like yours..

    Yea the dd 35s is what's holding me back beyond the hacking up a newish truck. Gonna mull it over a bit more.

    Well, I think I'll drop it off at the Sheridan dealer when I visit my parents for Xmas. I'll clean out the air box prior to taking it in. If they still dont fix it then I'll just deal with it myself. I don't want to have to lawyer up over this.

    Do it and share the wealth of knowledge! 35s are the same price as 33s...besides the extra stuff like gears.

    Probably none.

    But they do make stuff easier. For the amount of work it takes its probably not totally worth it. But the ground clearance does come in handy every now and then. It's why I can just blow down shoshone hardly picking a line vs you and mike having to always pick a line.

    Ko2s run about the same cost for 33 or 35s give or take a few dollars on tirerack. Although thats not really the cost problem in the situation.

    I still agree it's not really worth it on 1st gens. But on 2nd gens it's easy. Just fenders and right rim offset/backspacing. 1st gens you have to tub. Whole other problem that sucks to do. Gears are required no matter what.

    For you 35s would never make sense. For pretty much everyone it doesn't with a 1st gen.

    2nd gen all you need is to cut and hammer and you're good. Id do 35s on a 2nd gen first go with tires. It's like 33s for us.

    None really, but 35's would take some stress off my skids which are beat up after two seasons...

    Yes, probably none. They do make stuff easier and it's why they are on my radar. I do enjoy the challenge that the 33's provide, it makes easier trails more fun in that respect.

    About 10$ more per tire if i remember right. ko2's are pretty cheap compared to the mtr...


    In the end i'll probably go with the 295 and regear to 4.56 when the weather is nice or when i can get a garage to work in this winter. I really want to be over geared for crawling and it reinforce the grandma speed on the highway. A few mph only equates to a few minutes anyways.

    Yea i'm going to get assembled third whenever it happens. After watching you struggle twice F that. If your bender is up and running I should have those coil bucket top plates too. All that's needed is to notch some tube and bend it over the motor/weld it to the mount. Up to you though and whoever else may want to do stuff.

    I'm going to try and get that up. Really my only shop project. Going to make it hydro assist. Would be the first bend I've done so cool! I also only have a 1.65" die..

    One of my fondest memories is getting a rhythm, picking lines and maintaining momentum on shoshone. Both directions. Unfortunately, just about the time you get into a zone, some twerp with a clutch and stock gears stalls his truck or has to stop and bump over an obstacle. :laugh:

    I think you've pushed me over the edge. I had been considering 34s (34x10.5r17 actually).

    I think I'm going to go with the 33x10.5s one more round and not do the big brake upgrade.
