Mine has two cats, the eBay one is $600 new from a Toyota dealership in FL. From what I can see the only difference between those pics and the listing here is the down pipe is a little different. Prob for the cats being different. He also posted a link for new 04 ones for $1,000 from some site. Interesting, everything I've read said you couldn't buy the 04 ones new anymore.

 

I suppose so. I was under the impression they all had two as the emmision box got moved to the back as well

I can't recall if Ben's '01 has the stuff moved to the top of the gas tank like mine is. I kno his under hood emissions stuff is different from mine.

It is always scary buying from a total stranger over the interwebz, but making a payment thru paypal (NOT AS A GIFT) does give you a lot of protections as the buyer. Also, if you pay with a credit card, there more layers of protections.

 

Went with the 98 ones on eBay. I can't imagine there's much of difference If I can't get the cats to fit properly I'll just order the URD rear sensor simulator and straight pipe it with a muffler. Get to experience my SC's full potential finally. Thanks for the info fellas

So in a weird turn of events, the last time at the dealer they topped off my oil. I have since been to Sheridan and back ~600 miles. In the past, I would almost immediately get a check engine light sometime within that trip. Usually when I stop for the first time in Casper to get fuel. The check engine light was for the MAF sensor...basically the engine wasn't getting enough air.

I have not checked the oil level, but by now I normally have audible sounds signalling that the oil was in fact low.

Do you guys think the dealer simply removing the hose to my air box may have fixed my issues? Maybe there was a huge amount of dirt in there that blocked air and they got it out? Or am I just getting lucky and my truck is going to make weird noises again in the next 100 miles?

 

Got offered a job to study porcupines at devils tower over the break! I still have to apply but pretty sweet.

Of course. I just didn't feel like going outside to do it. The question was more geared towards if it's even a possibility? I don't exactly like when check engine lights randomly disappear and never come back. It's nice that a problem fixed itself...but it was a problem and that worries me.

 

Dont think so. Even my 14 has gotten those random check engine lights for maf or for fuel bank. They tend to show up after getting gas randomly but i havent seen one in 5 or so months either.

I always wonder how many people get screwed over buying on this site. I have the small fear in the back of my head everytime I purchase a part from a user but I am glad to see that occasionally a wrong can be made kinda right.

I could only imagine the laughs if that ever made it to court. Try telling that story to the judge
