Ouch, yah it was definitely a mess on 90 today. I almost got nailed by a Ford Ranger that started to go sideways on black ice. It was about 5.5hrs for me. On the eastbound side of the pass it was no better, plenty of spin outs and a couple roll overs. Sorry to have missed ya this weekend, I have terrible timing and never seem to be around when cool stuff happens.

 

Or it could be the pivots or pivot springs on the clutch are broke, which means you need a new clutch.

 

It would have been fun to hook up with you again. Maybe next time.

Well, got my lift on, and truck aligned, but for some reason I neglected getting longer brake lines, and my ultragauge froze, and now it won't turn on. Yay

 

It was snowing but there was very little build up, if any, on the pavement. It was very slick tho. Slick enough to use 4hi quite a bit. I think the temps played a role also but the root cause for most of the wrecks was inexperienced snow drivers with too much speed and loss of traction during unexpected braking.

That stretch of highway is very busy anyway and it was especially so because it was the last day of the holiday.

How much rotational play should there be in the slip joint? Mine has none but I keep it well lubed. Ben's driveshaft has dry joints and the slip yoke has some rotational play in it. And it is very dry of course.

Anything under 1/4" total, so like 1/8" each way is probably fine. More then that and it'll probably start to be an issue. That's when I replaced mine and my rear u joint went bad too due to lift angles.

It's just a big ass rubber bushing. It's supposed to move a bit. Not much though. But really it'll start screaming when it's bad. You can upgrade it to a more solid one though. LT guys do. That way it never wears out.

No idea. She doesn't know wth she is doing after school. I'll probably give it through summer but if she doesn't move or ends up going to grad school somewhere I'll probably break it off before heading to LA.
