Got another call for gig in my. 6 weeks this summer. Bye bye weekends. Still don't know pay yet.

Nice Monte. One thing I've learned in life (short mind you at 29) is never pass up a reasonable opportunity. It's why I'm in Wyoming. Couldn't be happier about the opportunity I went for 4 years ago. This summer is big for you. It's gonna be tempting to wheel all summer with the mindset its your last free summer but don't pass up anything that's reasonable!

That is a thought. But bigger thoughts in my head.

At the moment are these:

1) it's only 6 weeks. Not a life long job. Not a career start. What do I do the rest of summer? I kinda doubt it'll pay more then 12-15 an hour. Have a good optotunity to meet some good engineers though. Richard King being one who I'll work with next week at the symphony. But it's also not entirely something I want to do audio wise. But it is still a great optotunity.

2) weed and pest. Have a job May-Sept getting over 16 and hour plus OT. 3 day weekends. Outside. It'll set me up better for moving to la financially. But..it's not audio.

Yea man, it's all about meeting those people and breaking into new "tiers" of peers. Never know how it may help down the road.

There are a few things I still need confirmed. But the "season" for the venue is 6 weeks. Because winter I'm sure. So I do not see how I could maintain a full time job year round for a place that won't have any work the other 46 weeks of the year.

 

I'll bet his throat hurts after that.

Take the experience Monte. Anyone can get a degree but not everyone has job experience. It's small price to set yourself apart. Weed and pest may pay better but you won't get anything out of it but money.

 

Agreed. Take it. Shoot for weed and pest for the remainder of the season and if they don't want your work ethic, someone else will.

 

Working weed and pest. Then moving to LA and getting a gig in the studios.

Yea. I. Et weed and pest would take me for part of the season. Maybe. I'll have to find out. No one else will hire for two-three months though mid summer fall

 

Well if you are looking for a short term job and can run tractor/service farm equipment I might be able to hook you up.

Side note-i have a guy coming up from Denver on friday to look at my Datsun.

 

It's been a while. But be easy to learn again.
