Been trying to figure out what jetting my bike likes for 3 summers now. Still haven't figured it out.

Yeah. Always a bit of oil dripping from the exhaust but never could get it to go away, tried running leaner premix and jetting for it but never seemed to clear up. I just got it to where it would run decent and just dealt with it lol

Oh a 2 stroke, I'm surprised a leaner premix and smaller jet didn't clear it up. I'm not exactly sure what else would help. On a 4 stroke I generally start out very rich an use the spark plug test to determine when I've hit the optimal jet, usually can hit it on the second try. Stupid Holley 4bbl on a buddy's truck threw me for a loop more than a few times though.

I will crack down on it one of these days and try to get it figured out. I've been neglecting the bike for a while now so everything could use a good tune up. It's finicky trying to jet it for mountain riding considering temperature and altitude can change fairly often.

Something just occurred to me, is the exhaust modified?

I have an FMF powercore silencer on it but the pipe is the stock one.

Hmm, 2 stroke isn't a subject of much knowledge for me but I remember reading something about them needing sufficient back-pressure to avoid blowing their mixture right out the exhaust side. But it sounds as if what you have wouldn't affect that.

If I remember correctly FMF does require a rejet after installing their exhaust, but all this has happened after rejetting and such. I have a JD jet kit with a bunch of different needles I think I just need to take some more time and figure out what works best for the altitude. But like I said, it varies so I think it'll just be a matter of finding a decent happy-medium. I might take some time and play with it tomorrow if I'm feeling up to it.

Gsxr owners  honestly thats how the entire sportbike scene is around here. They go cruise highways and stop at every gas station for half hour. They wouldnt know a corner if they saw one. So glad i have a supermoto and getting rid of the sportbike

I watched one ididot try to get on the highway wearing his hat still....only to pull over on the shoulder a block down to stick it under the seat just like you said. Fucking moron

I was a huge doucher bro when I rode my r6 in highschool. I wore a helmet and jacket but i revved it, parked next to bicycles and carried my helmet and jacket into school like hot shit.

Once I left highschool the r6 guys were more about performance. The GSXRs all got stretched, blinged, and bro'ed out. Not sure why but it was all to common.

I miss the street bike just because it was tons of fun to hit mountain roads. They are not very comfortable though and I would never suggest one for cruising around. To have one strictly as a toy would be awesome!

I am excited for the harley. It isn't the more cush ride but it will work well for work and around town. Even a 5 hour trip home to sheridan.

Thats about the only reason i'd want one, is to hit the twisty mountain roads and be able to haul ass lol.

I think a Harley would be just as fun though, totally different animal but still a blast. The Harley I want probably wouldnt be the greatest for long trips but would be a blast for a weekend warrior.

i find mine really comfortable but thats because im not old and im physically fit and ride alot.

Talk about bike respect this dudes story is super good read and great pictures, rides a ducati 1299 super sport across the usa and back. Ducati sees this and then gets him a new bike and he does it across europe.

I am not old or out of shape . I sold it when I was 22. It was just being hunched over the whole time. I could have done a few upgrades in the comfort department. The gear and had also wasn't super comfy but hard to complain about a bit of safety on a bike.

Apparently it was frowned upon at school. When I got out of class it was outside, and my helmet and keys were being held hostage at the office.
