    I hate stick welding haha well..not hate. But it takes a lot of practice. The guys I learned from where fucking good. Thouh they do it all the time. Oil guys

    Yeah, I find MIG a lot more useful in my everyday stuff, but stick is a cheap way to weld thicker stuff without forking thousands for a good Hobart or Miller MIG.

    I think we could make that for less money, but that is a better idea I think than fixing the elocker over and over.

    I think if I was in that situation, I might consider swapping to an 8.4 axle.

    I would not be giving up on a locker. Gotta have a selectable in the rear. Of course I would add an ARB and 4.88s. Didn't think I needed to say that.

    Might even consider using a t100 axle like Monte is going to. @Blackdawg How much wider are they? Are the axles any stronger over the Tacoma axles? I know the 8.4 carrier is generally stronger.

    you wouldn't do a t100 and neither would ben lol its 6'' wider. 3'' per side. Look moronic unless you did LT too.

    The pinion is much stronger and the ring gear is slightly bigger and braced better.

    It is stronger then the e locker, not by a huge margin though.

    All this talk of swapping axles and everything else. Jut replace the damn elocker solenoid and have plenty of years to use it again.

    Easiest and cheapest option at the moment

    You can get it online for 615. And unless you have the funds to drop for new gears/arb now then i would just fix it and continue running it even if you decide to regear. Just my opinion. The truck is 12+ years old and it just now failed so a new one should easily last a while unless you get rough with it

    So when you regear...your going to swap diffs..and axles..just for an air locker..

    So what your saying is air lockers are better? Haha

    Seems excessive though. You can't put an air locker in your current axle or diff.
