Yes. Nothing spectacular, just another “stiff personality” from XO that loves Toyota’s. :D

I’ve been on TW for quite awhile. I don’t post as often as I do on Mud and other Toyota forums but I still stay pretty up to speed on the Tacoma’s. I’ve been involved in the media launches for the last 3-4 years of Tacoma’s so that has been fun to work with Toyota on. Most recently we did the launch of the new Land Cruiser Heritage. Not always the exact vehicle I wished we had coming from Toyota but still neat!

Sure. I’m not exactly offended by how someone perceives my personality based on a few minutes of YouTube content edited by folks I’ve not spent time with, hardly a measure for anyone really.

Just once for that Tacoma. It did McKenzie Trail, Colombia to Ushuaia in South America, Whipsaw, Canada to Baja and a bunch in the US during the Overlander and Proven Series. Such a great truck!

I wasn't commenting on you specifically a few weeks ago, but I feel like this is a good conversation.

I would argue it's not even a personal measure of the people who are frequently featured on or run a show. A lot of people miss the fact that even YouTubers are actors in their own productions. I think the most successful find the voice or character that resonates with most people or with the people they would like to reach and continue that voice or character. I think it's a fascinating part of entertainment right now. I also think that resonates with your "I (we) have no illusion that the show is or will be engaging and entertaining for every viewer. It’s naive for us to assume we could even produce content that would/could be useful to all."

That was a great Tacoma too, still is! That one did Alaska Yukon, Baja and Central America down to the Darien Gap and many trips throughout the US. Supercharged 4.0L was likely my favorite of the 3 Tacoma’s but the Habitat or the current one that Richard and Ash are touring is a rad setup.

My favorite part is when they had to cut there way through the Mckenzie trail

Totally fine, no harm taken. I don’t pin my existence on being an accepted “Overlander” in what is becoming an interesting realm for that word/market as more and more big companies and personalities pickup on it. XO produces content that a growing number of subscribers seem to enjoy all while being humbled by that resonating fact... some will absolutely abhor what we do and how we do it. No surprise there.

I’m fortunate to spend 100+ days a year out exploring this marvelous world in one form or another and for better or worse, a camera isn’t along for most. When the camera is along on XO trips, it’s definitely not all doom/gloom serious talk, quite the opposite really, we have a fun time on the trips but the hours and hours of us sitting around the campfire laughing or the dozens of hours I spend calling out Land Cruisers or visiting 4x4 shops where ever we go isn’t exactly compelling content for those that do consider themselves fans of the show? I dunno, I’m not an editor and my talent behind the camera is worse than my talent in front of it. Hope that make sense. Fortunately there is so much free content available on YouTube such as XO, if it’s not your thing... there is 300 hours of content added to YouTube each minute :eek The “Next” button is literally just a click away :D

That was no joke and I don’t think the episode did justice to how much cutting we had to do. We were definitely not expecting to spend 5-6 a day with two guys manning a chainsaw.

Really enjoyed the 3 seasons on Amazon. Had to bail on the YouTube stuff when I saw the Toyotas were gone.

Loved the show. Watched, it and followed it for the Yotas. Which did well. I liked the people and production as well. Not easy to do, props.

Toyota's gone? A Gladiator was added to the lineup but it's not done a trip without a Toyota or two along with it.

Super worried every time, Ty tries to cut something.

I’ve met Ivan, during his Baja domination. He is a really cool dude. I didn’t know he lived there.

The show covers so many things, and aspects, of even just life, and human kindness. I really appreciate that.

I think we all worry each time Ty has a blade out :D. He’s super legit, ex-marine, kindest human you will meet. But damn he has bad luck with blades.

Ivan has a house in Baja, he’s a regular siting at the Baja races. We were able to arrange a meet/greet to have him sign the hood of our 200 Series race rig. Such a guy!

It doesn't appear that you're taking the critical comments very seriously, which is good. I've been on the wrong end of a camera a few times, and know I have no business there. You guys did well and were fun to watch.

Anyway, it's a pleasure to "meet" you.
I flew through them. Some of the scenery is just unbelievable.
    Absolutely.
