100% would be in over a Pro grill if you get a clean looking 2018 friendly version!

Just a suggestion but if you could find an 18 with a Pro grill you may be able to "copy" the mounting point and cover for the TSS and implement it into your grill?

This has already been discussed. A solution is on it's way. Patience.

Copying the mounting points is easy. Redesigning the entire mold to incorporate said sensor it's what's cost prohibitive. So you're left with trying to adapt to the original grill. Curious what OP comes up with, but I would be realllly hesitant relocating/remounting safety equipment.. clean looking grill.

Understandable but it seems there’s quite a bit of interest in a 2018 model that may make it worth the trouble. Not to mention it would be a pretty good assumption that all models after 2018 will also have the TSS... So without making a TSS version your kind of limiting your potential for sales... Just my .2 cents

But I am also curious how it turns out!

But to just design the grille and bezel in one piece so not screwing two separate pieces together..

The oem grille and bezel don't screw together. The bezel screws and clips into the front panel. There would have to be a complete change in process to get those mounting points included in a single piece.

Does anyone know if you're legally allowed to sell things with a trademarked logo on them??? I know that the "Toyota" can be "bought separately," but is this legal?

I get what you mean but when you design these things there are a lot of considerations to factor in; manufacturing, security, economics, shipping, tooling, price, and design. In the end it works out to just have a simple plug and play grille that mounts securely under the existing trim piece.

I could have designed a custom trim piece to give it a different look or gone with no trim piece at all like the pro grille but all things considered it was the best way to do it. In the end if I were to have the trim piece and the grille as one unit the customers would have to pay for a trim piece (which the majority of Tacoma owners already have) on top of the grille cost or without a trim piece adding the clips to it would have greatly increased the tooling cost/product cost.

    Thanks,

Good idea about the tss sensor spot from the pro grille.

I think I have a simple solution that is ready to roll out but need to test it first. @chadabear and I are working on it

I get it, i'm just frustrated with my bezel, paint keeps chipping...
Think I'm gonna get the chrome sandblasted off.

Might be able to use some oven cleaner like easy off to completely take off the chrome or just use some steel wool to scruff it up, then prime it, then paint it.

    Are you using plasti-dip?

I bet if you made a WTB thread for the black off road grille trim piece a lot of guys on here would be willing to sell it for you cheap. Then you wouldn't have to deal with the paint.

If you look at the pictures of the grille on the first page, the badge area is blank so these grilles are customizable. The Toyota logo is a seperate option.

Anyone getting in line for this?
If I were to toss in a few extra bones is shipping to Canada possibly an option?
