Finally got mine installed on my Pro after sitting in my garage for nearly 2 years. Lovin the way it looks:

 

Looks great. Still the best grille option out there in my opinion.

 

How did you do the tan lettering? Assuming that's the same emblem that OP suggests to buy?

No problems with the TSS Sensor on these, right? I'm showing my ignorance here, but it seems to me that bar that would go in front of the cutout for the TSS may cause interference issues. I just want to make sure before I spend the money. Thank you.

 

So far haven't had hardly any issues at all on the TSS. The sensor kinda goes in-between those two bars but mostly everyone's has worked really well, and posted about it here. A few have said that when they first installed it a light came on but then turned off. If it doesn't work you know you'll have great customer service to help out.

I had a few people asking about putting the letters from the Pro Grille on the X-Trek Grille and found a way to get the letters by themselves for only $10 bucks!

Also found some letters that look identical to the 4 Runner letters that would probably be easier to mount as they have the 3M double sided tape so you can just stick them right on.

Hey @Socalbasketcase they are still available and will fit a 2020 OR but I believe you will need the trim piece as the new 2020 stock off road grilles don't have that trim piece like all the other stock Tacomas grilles do.

You can find the trim housing piece on the for sale threads often for free or very cheap.

You'll also want to get the 2018+ mesh option on the website to allow it to work with the sensor.

Thanks for the information Travis, I bought the 4Runner letters and really like the look better than the chrome letters that I had before.

 

Thanks for sharing @Captqc. For only $10 bucks not much to lose to give it a shot.

How was installing them?

 

Hardest part was getting the old letters off. I did trim the location tabs off the back of the new letters so they were flush.

 

Order a grille over a month ago and finally getting around to getting this installed .

For the tss radar behind the grill I went a different route . Atj designs sells a relocation bracket for a tundra that works on the Tacoma as long as you use a 1/2 spacer for the install .






So far I had 0 issues and everthing is working normal .



As for the emblem I still need to paint it . But I am going to see if I can use a set of aluminum Toyota letters I made . Hopefully it doesn’t affect the tss system .
