Theres a thread on HIDPlanet discussing some F16 BMW LED fogs. The closest thing we pre-2012 owners can do is retro fit something like those F16s into our OEM housings.

    http://www.hidplanet.com/forums/showthread.php?53676-F15-BMW-X5-LED-Fog-Lights

Here's the lights I think they're around $60 from TRS:

I guess I've got to start this very soon....
I have a pair that are lightly used for 6 months for sale.... $125 shipped lower 48. PM if interested. These came off of my 2014 DCLB. As you can see, I no longer need them. I also have the stock ones.

SOLD THE XBs, and still have the stocks.

Want these bad, possibly next Friday. Correct me if I'm wrong but they are essentially plug and play?

They are plug and play. Though, you may have to adjust the height of the beam - which is a simple turn of a screw.

I'm looking at adding these fog lights. Can you comment on how they are holding up as far as performance and the quality. Thanks guys for the informative thread on these fog lights.

I can provide an update for you in a few days.
Originally had some cheapo HID's in the stock fog housing, caused radio static
Ordered XB's in 9/2014. been running them for 3 years. Still work! zero issues
I like the crisp cutoff of the XB's, they provide great up-close lighting output.
I miss the distance / output of the HIDs though
I am going back to stock housing with TRS HIDS.
Just waiting on my BF order to arrive....

The XBs are a good product because they actually have a SAE/DOT beam pattern with an engineered cut off.

People should know by now that running HIDs or LEDs in a stock reflector is unacceptable and a safety hazard to other motorists on the road.

Please read this and get informed. While written for LED the same concept applies to HID:
